Re: [OT] how hard it is to learn/use Pro Tools?

You can't open .omf files in PTHD either unless you have the DigiTranslator costing $495.00 but I don't want to get into PT bashing, it is a nice system for mixing audio in (PTHD) and Knotkranky will whup my ass if I say anything else negative on here for the umpteenth time ;) LOL, in case you didn...

Re: [OT] how hard it is to learn/use Pro Tools?

Its really easy to use, especially PT 8. Its still a little buggy compared but the midi editing is better than the previous versions IMHO. It now has that "Ableton" feel to it that its been missing. If you want to learn it, a good book about $50.00 is "Pro Tools 101 Official Coursewar...

Re: Vocals Recording

To the OP: You might get more pointed responses by posting a sample of the music and then asking a similiar question. Or, even better yet, why not ask one of the talented folk here in the forum to mix the tune for you. Cough up a some bucks and have them provide you with the entire project once com...

Re: Samplitude user disses Live as 'shit for mixing in' at GS

I asked a friend of mine who was a graduate at Berklee Music, and he said his teacher explained to him that there was a slight difference in the sounds of other programs simply because of the way the numbers are crunched. The algorithms are all different, despite doing the same function. im sure the...

Re: Mastering

It's all a sliding scale, so there's no easy criteria to define what IS a professional recording per se. This is what I define as a professional place to record. http://ardentstudios.com/ I've recorded here many times and talked to so many professionals through here. I would still like to visit NRG...

Likewise, there's no one thing that you can listen to pick out a budget recording (and if there was, someone would make a plug in to solve that issue anyway).. As I tend to agree with most of th...
