Re: Stuff in Max4Live you wish you'd worked out ages ago….

@John is faster Depends if you have "segmented patch chords" on or not. Turn it on from the Max application Menu Bar in the Options drop down menu and see if you prefer it on or off. Thanks so much. Now I can say "I wish I worked that out ages ago" :) Serious though I've been wo...

general question about granulator

I remember granulator version 1 had a limitation of 4 instances per live set, does anyone know if granulator 2 has this limitation?

I'd go check myself but my music computer currently in safe mode running a virus scan at the moment. :?

Saving contents of Buffer~ and then drag file in, or...

I'm capturing random bits of audio into a buffer~ and playing it back, if I find a bit I like I save it to file using a write message then I have to drag that file into a drop box to save it with the live set. What I'm wondering is if there is a way to tell max during the act of saving the file that...

Re: A bug with Looper device

Yeah what was I thinking telling you to update to the latest version. I must be some kind of asshole for giving you the first step any tech support in the world would give you. I could have tested it on my system but I figured installing 9.0.5 on my system just so I could look for bugs that might al...

Re: A bug with Looper device

Try updating to 9.0.6 before reporting bugs. If you do find a bug send it to ableton via email.

Re: emulating a no-input mixer.

I don't think analog is black magic. I use Ableton quite a lot and love it. I use all sorts of analog and digital tools. Can a guy not say he prefers hardware feedback solutions to digital ones without getting tagged as a hipster or an audiophile? Sensitive much? I've done both software and hardware...

Re: emulating a no-input mixer.

Im kinda chuckling at the no input being expensive notion. With a behringer mixer and 3 or 4 guitar pedals you could get a huge range of sounds going. On a budget of $300 you could get a set up comparable to many touring hipsters. Its worth noting that sometimes youll still want some input, no input...

Re: emulating a no-input mixer.

Its worth playing with in live but youll never get the same results as analog. Im not a purist but analog feedback chains are just bonkers compared to digital.

Who still has to kill Indexer in the system processes?

Every single time I shut down live the Indexer stays running in the system processes, if I restart live without killing it first I don't get anything in the Live browser and have to close live again, kill the Indexer and then reopen live. I've been doing this for months. Is there a known fix for it ...

snappier response when patcher is open

Im making a device to control other live devices, when the patcher is open I'm getting a very snappy response to the changes but when I close the patcher the parameter changes seem to have a slight glide to them. What I mean is I'm using my max device to control a parameter on operator, when the pat...

Re: Lately I've been getting tiny little crackles

According to the advice here and advice I got on muffwiggler.com it sounds like if I just turn it off when I'm not using it I should have some luck. Hopefully that'll work. I've always had a bad habit of leaving everything on all the time. I wouldn't turn it off for the benefit of the planet but god...
