Re: Recording electric guitar into live
Thanks for the replies guys. I've narrowed it down to either an apogee jam or the apogee one (depending on how the finances are!). Can anyone comment on how abletons amp stands up in terms of guitar amp modelling software?

Recording electric guitar into live
Hi guys, I've been using live for a couple of years now and it's great fun, but thing I've struggled with though is the music aspect! I really have no idea about playing the keys and clicking with a mouse just doesn't do it for me. I played guitar as a kid for many years and so I've decided that I s...

Scale mode using oxygen 25
Like everyone else I'm really excited by Push, but it's got me thinking. Is it possible to have something similar to the in-key mode using my m-audio oxygen 25? i.e. I have different scales on the keys. I know I can use the scale midi effect, but this is not quite the same.

Hi, I have a pair of M-Audio BX5A monitors and a NI Audio 2 soundcard. The monitors accept 1/4" TRS cables and the audio 2 has 2 1/4" unbalanced outputs. What's the best way for me to hook these up? 1 channel per monitor or use a splitter from one of the line outputs? I think most people u...

Moving to a New MBP - help with the transfer
Hi guys, I just bought a new MBP (15", 2.2 i7, 8GB RAM, OSX Lion) to replace my ailing old white macbook. Can you advise me the best way to transfer everything over (presets, racks, VST's etc.). I am not using migration assistant as I want to keep this new guy nice and clean! I have contacted A...

Re: Audio interface/soundcard advice
Cheers Eddie. I know people hate the 'which soundcard question" - but I had no choice... :) My monitors are pretty cheap: M-Audio BX5a. They do the trick for me - making music/sounds is really just a hobby for me and I just want something decent that doesn't break on me and is problem free. I c...

Audio interface/soundcard advice
Apologies for yet another soundcard question, but I did a search and never really found the advice I am looking for... Basically I am looking for a USB audio interface/soundcard for my macbook. I have been producing (if you can call it that!) for about a year. I recently got some monitors and have b...

Re: help with drum racks
Figured it out. Had to go to the root folder containing the default drum rack and then delete what was there. Pretty easy, though still not sure how it happened in the first place, especially as the default was a rack that I no longer had the audio files for...

help with drum racks
Hi,
Recently, when I have attempted to open a new blank drum rack, instead of a blank rack opening a rack opens called 'Kit-data entry'. Somehow this has become my default. Any suggestions how and why this has happened and how I get my blank rack back!?!
Thanks

setting track volume levels
Hi guys, I have been using Live for a few months now. The last few days I have been trying to learn about mixing down tracks (including some great threads on here). Previously I was just sticking a limiter on each channel and the master... :O As far as I can tell I should be aiming for the master ou...

Hi guys, First of I want to say that this forum has been an excellent source of knowledge for myself as a beginner. Now, question time :D So, after playing with the demo for a month, I have purchased Live 8. I am a total newb when it comes to producing, but I am having fun learning, working with tut...
