Re: 'Melodics' - FREE finger drumming lessons (Ableton partner)
I'd like to see stop start mapped to controller transport instead of the space bar and an easier way to load the next group of lessons than going back to the browser. +1 And that's really cool that you are improving so fast. I get the same thing where my fingers get confused quickly... it's like th...

Re: Officially bought live suite yesterday...any tips
Collision, tension and corpus are great for sound design, electric is great for house/ hip hop flavours. Analog sounds great but Operator is something really special. Stay away from presets when you can apart from electric because the presets are kind of the point with that one. Max4live is really w...

Re: 'Melodics' - FREE finger drumming lessons (Ableton partner)
I have it a week, subscribed ( I want to be sure to stay interested) , loads of fun and I'm loving the progress as before trying this I could do about 1 bar and my brain would fart and decide to switch rythyms to different fingers. Now I'm doing off beats, up beats and the odd triplet. Currently stu...

Use Push Convert button to Freeze tracks
I'm loving Push 2. Imagine using the convert button to freeze a midi track (or an audio track with it's effects), then converting the frozen track into a flattened audio track, followed by more access to clip parameters like :2 and *2 etc... would be great for general sound mangling. The resultant a...

Re: November 29th, 2015: 9.5 Wiped Packs and Plug-ins. DISGUSTED
I've never known Live to destroy files, I can't think of any process it has that would do this and (I'm sure this is other people's gut feelings hence the jokes which, in fairness, weren't cruel and were pretty funny) all is wrong here is broken links to folders or an index that needs rebuilding. Th...

has to be an open input somewhere, like a channel set up as a bus with monitor set to in and the noise off an input getting a slap of bus compression

Re: Mix getting louder and softer??!
Look at your return tracks, is there a dry/wet dial at less than 100% wet? Return track audio is delayed by 1 sample so this might cause the phase cancellation Stormcraft mentioned if the sends get turned up in the quieter section.

Re: Tarekith's Guide to Digital Audio Levels and Metering
Good stuff in that article and well written too. I wasn't aware the '88.2khz sounds better converted to 44.1khz than 96khz' thing was a myth. Also I'm covering this subject at the moment in classes and 1bit equals 6db of dynamic range is so clear and simple I'm amazed I never read it that way before...

Re: Max 7
Right now I'm on Bit-player which seems to be the good generic sample quantizer/slicer to check out. It's got some quality and mode options to choose from. Strange that there isn't a reverse option. 3 of the mode options destroy the cpu (and I'm on an i7 4810MQ). Not sure if you could do this befor...

Re: Presonus 16.4.2 as Ableton Live controller in 9.1.7
The Presonus is a fully featured digital mixer, if you are confused about using it as a controller for live's mixer then I recommend staying away from it and getting something like this http://djworx.com/ready-pre-order-livid-ds1-midi-mixer/ or this http://global.novationmusic.com/launch/launch-cont...

Re: HELP! External Compressor + Ableton Live
If you use the external audio effect device the latency will be compensated, but even if this compensation is a tenth of a millisecond off and you use the dry/wet control on the device you will get phasing. I do this sort of thing with external distortion boxes and it comes down too what is the leas...

Re: Plugin Delay Compensation and MIDI clock sync delay
I want to sync my drum machine by sending MIDI clock from Live. I do this, but the returning audio is 17ms slow, so I compensate for this with a "MIDI clock sync delay" of -17ms. Sounding good so far. Then I add an external instrument device, to play a hardware synth. I have Plugin delay ...

Re: New article: Lakker
I think having the artist in front of the projections works, especially when the projection are done with this in mind. It's nice to see people grafting to give you the experience and this way they look like performers and not side-of-stage technicians. I really enjoyed that piece and the linked pie...
