cpu meter jumping wildly....normal?
I've been curious about something. during typical song construction in live 7, I generally hit a point after the majority of my vst's are loaded up, plus fx and so on, wherein the CPU meter is dancing wildly between anywhere from 8% up to 50 - 60% , occasionally more, in momentary flickers. this dan...

Re: Editing samples within Live
I know I should be able to do this somehow simply in Live. I have a simple 1 bar drum loop. I want to just crop it now so that all I have is the transient on the 1 and then silence for the next 3 beats. What's the quickest/easiest way? you can't do actual hard-audio editing in live. your options ar...

I want a new toy - SynPlant or Zebra2 ??
Hey guys. I'm feeling the itch to dump another load of cash onto a softsynth to play with. I've already got a ton of toys but don't have... Synplant -- gimmick, or great??? Zebra2 -- just basic bread&butter (and thereby redundant when I have fm8, absynth, sylenth1, operator, massive...) or somet...

does anybody actually use the Export Normalize option?
...and if so, why? In the case of exporting full songs, it seems this would be death to any mastering process done post-mixdown. Or if you did your mastering in ableton's master channel, you wouldn't need it (the normalize). So is this just useful, perhaps, for exporting various loops that you want ...

the -12db theory is very recommended to look at. works for me. even if it takes some discipline... I have a real basic question about the -12db theory, and you may be in a position to answer it. How are you compensating for the volume reduction from your speakers/monitors when you set all tracks at...

I like it! especially the guitar parts. nice. I've really been bored with industrial music latey. same bullshit club formula. This is more mid 90's to me. I like it I like it. thank you. I agree with you about current industrial -- it practically doesn't exist anymore. Also agree about the mid-90's...

Re: lowering the master volume fader, bad?
i heard once in a far away place that reducing the volume using your master fader, results in a loss of resolution of the audio. this is not my personal experience, but i was just checking. I looked this up a while back, too. The general consesus was that you won't be effect the quality at all. Go ...

what do you think of EIC2 ?
I did live7 suite download, so I missed EIC2 and session drums......is it worth it for me, come upgrade-to-8 time, to do box instead of download and grab these two (for an extra 70 bucks) ? what do you think of the EIC2 ? use it much? what about session drums? bear in mind, I have and regularly use ...

Re: Native Instruments Audio interfaces.
Whats the report on the audio interfaces made by NI. Sound quality and reliability on Mac OSX for Traktor and Live. I use their Rig Kontrol 3, because I record a lot of guitar with guitar rig and like the footswitch options it has, and since it doubles as my external sound card/preamp, it takes car...
