Re: How to make sure two instruments don't hit the same low ends
Pick which instrument you want to have the low end. 1. Massive retains low end - so you would put a high pass filter or a low shelf cut on the Stingray. 2. Stingray retains low end - so you would put a high pass filter or low shelf cut on Massive It may be just one offending frequency that is muddyi...

Live 9.0.1 Long Buffering on load compared to 8
I have noticed with 9 that there are longer loading times. In particular a relatively simple set of about 8 tracks and 15 clips takes a lot longer than live 8 to load up. The buffering samples blue progress bar pops up bottom left and progress is damn slow. The same project opens almost instantly on...

Re: Launchpad users- Quick question
100% of the time when starting live 9 the launchpad is not seen correctly. Have to de select and reselect it in midi pref to make it come to life. Have been having this issue since beta. Reported it then and have reported it again now to ableton. It's giving me the shits. I wish it would just work. ...

Re: Favourite new ANALOGUE synth?
I voted Minibrute as that is what i recently purchased. I have previously owned a Juno 6 a Juno 60 and a JX3P. I also own a Korg Monotribe with the amazing machines midi in / out fitted. I am having heaps of fun. I like the variety of filter types on the Minibrute. It can go from smooth and creamy t...

Re: Midi controllers not detected in Ableton 9. Slow startup
My start up time on win7 64 9 64 is good but still plagued by live not detecting my launchpad. It's there in the midi pref but the red box doesn't show in session view and the button on the launchpadhpad are lit but don't work. Had same problem had same issue with betas. Deselecting any midi device ...

Re: Korg MS20 mini as master keyboard/midi controller
Forgive my new-ness but does it having in/out note messages this mean you can still trigger notes, from the ms-20 mini in ableton? As in can could you still use it to control the midi enough to say write a riff? Yes you can write riffs on it but you wont have any velocity sensitivity. For example i...

Re: Any advice for mixing and mastering?
Watch Pensados Place and check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-xMOHKFWjI Whilst this is not my genre of music it really shows the process of balance, what parts have the focus, depth in the mix with reverb etc. Maybe start simple. Add a tool to your kit 1 at a time. Learning each on...

Re: List of instruments emulated with Suite8?
I'm not sure if there is a list somewhere. The following are only my opions: Live does not have any useful organs IMO. Go third party with something like NI Vintage Organs or the Genuine Soundware VB3. Abletons Electric does some reasonable rhodes type sounds. I have found better results with Scarbe...

Re: Live 9 Beta Testers - What new features are you seeing?
Performance and render times are slightly better, at least with the 64 bit versions here. Posted my results in the performance test thread. Hi Tarekith, Is Live 9 utilizing all cores of CPU on render now equally? I think in Live 8 it just renders with most of the CPU coming from one core making for...

Re: MP3s don't import properly
I also had this reproducable problem. MP3s from the one album all worked draging in except 1 of them where just a minute of audio was available. Another of the mp3's when draged in had all sorts of strange digital mush looped for 5 minutes after the MP3 should have ended. Win 7, profire 2626, asus m...

Re: 64 bit beta thoughts?
I have the 64 bit beta and 8.3 installed side by side running with no issues on win 7 64. Installed 8.3 latest version 1st and let it do its thing before installing the beta. All my 64 bit plugs running fine (except for Izotype vinyl which doesn't show up). All old projects are loading up in the new...

Thanks cpyatak! I had a blast doing it. Ableton was rad...it only took 3 hours to piece together and the groove quantize feature made matching 2 beats a piece of cake : )

Re: Other DAWs
Used Live since version 4. Last year bought S1 V2 and nutted out 3 or 4 songs. I was aiming for a 64 bit system. Back to Live fully now as it suits my workflow better and ideas are easier to flesh out and get songs finished quicker. Using Jbridge to run Kontakt and Superior Drummer as 64bit so that ...
