Drum Rack tracks visible as individual tracks in Arrangement
Right now you can expand the Drum Rack in the mixer section of the session view, but it would be awesome to be able to view them as individual lanes in Arrangement view! I was super excited about Drum Racks when it first came out, and still use it, but I refrain from using a single "drum rack&q...

Re: Recording at 24/192?
I believe it may be related to your soundcard? Does your soundcard support 192khz? In any case... you don't really need to record at 192khz. Unless you really really really need to capture those subtle nuances at 96000hz, five times higher than the range of human hearing. 96khz is ample, and it's st...

Re: Recording live changes to the sampler position
Ah okay.... one way you can kind of do this is by playing with the Aux Envelope in the modulation tab. If you route the envelope 100% to "sample offset", give the envelope a long attack time, and then automate the "initial" value of the envelope (which is the start point for the ...

Re: Live 8.0.1 Crashes on Duplicate Time, Copy Time, Insert Sile
I just recently started getting this problem with a set in 8.2.2 Anytime I tried to duplicate time or insert blank bars, the project would crash. Very frustrating. After some trial and error, I found that freezing/flattening a couple of fully stocked drum racks fixed the problem. I had three drum ra...

I wish this was available...sadly there are some super awesome parameters in sampler that just can't be automated. No clue as to why...

Re: How to use relative paths when navigating Live API?
Awesome thanks! I'm reading more about the use of canonical paths now... a good guide I've found is right here: http://blog.synthfan.info/2011/04/11/m4 ... sultsChart

How to use relative paths when navigating Live API?
In the Live API Overview ( http://www.cycling74.com/docs/max5/refpages/m4l-ref/m4l_live_api_overview.html ) it mentions that you can use relative or absolute paths to deal with API values. I can't seem to track down documentation on how to deal with relative positions... how would I tell max that I ...

Re: If I built a 16-knob macro control device...
Also, I think most of the work has been done for me by the Covert Operators in their "Sixteen Macros" m4l device. If I can figure out now a way to have this device map/unmap from the 16 midi CC#s when I select or de-select a track which contains the device, I should be golden...

Re: If I built a 16-knob macro control device...
I'd like to be able to give my racks 16 macros instead of 8. The eventual goal would be that I could have 16 arbitrary midi CC numbers that would automatically lock onto these 16 macros once the track containing the rack was selected. This way I could create Instrument Racks with 16 rather than 8 pr...

If I built a 16-knob macro control device...
Could I make the 16 knobs to be accessible from remote scripts? I know that typically the remote scripts will only give you access to the 8 macros available in a standard "grouped rack". Is it even possible to alter what is accessible by the remote scripts? Do I have to create a custom pyt...

Ableton Sampler: How to begin loop on key press?
Okay I'll try to say this in a more comprehensible way using terms from the manual... In Sampler, with Sustain Loop enabled, playback proceeds linearly until Loop End is reached, when it jumps immediately to Loop Start and continues looping. I want Sampler to begin playing from Loop Start as soon as...
