Re: Bi-Polar Macros

Well we got more macros with Live 11 which is nice, but they are just as basic as before. More macros does not help with a limited hardware knob count. Most controllers have 8 rotary knobs, and bipolarity would douple the functions count of those 8. Macro curves/envelopes even more so. All together ...

Re: Live 11: Fold my Scale?

Yeah, I know what you mean, I don't mind about scales either, I just play stuff (and don't really know anything about music theory anyway). But here's a tip: as it's usually quite straightforward to find which key you're in, once you've recorded some midi, activate the scale button and fold your pi...

Re: Live 11: Fold my Scale?

So I end up opening and closing it a lot, like if I want to move some notes 1 octave higher etc. You can do it without unfolding: select your note, and press Shift+up/down keys  Yeah yeah my man, but its just a suggestion to the new Scale Fold future coming with Live 11. Its a "I don't w...

Re: Live 11 is coming !!!

Everyone was upset because it took 5 years (or more?) for Live10, but now this one was too quick. :? Back in the early Live versions, the 1 (1/2) year turnaround was quite usual. I get that it can be upsetting for some that this means spending cash once more. But please remember what huge free poin...

Re: Live 11: Fold my Scale?

It is not really that easy to add, as most note combinations will fit various scales, not just one, it is kinda fuzzy. If you have M4L, there is these devices (had kinda forgotten, Live 11 taking my attention now): http://fabriziopoce.com/HarmoTools.html Aha. Ok thanks, and thanks for the link! I d...

Re: Fold My Scale

Understandable. Who knows? Seems like a performance-oriented feature. Maybe in 10.2. If you've already got notes, drag them to the left beyond the beginning of the clip, then hit the fold button. Only works for one clip though. Yes, something like that could work. Or even better: Fold a clip like n...

Re: Live 11: Fold my Scale?

Instead of just folding scales of whatever notes you curently have in your clip! You can already fold to the notes for many many years... I know, and I do it all the time, since it first was available. :) It does not give you all the octaves of the keyboard though, like the new Scale function in Li...

Re: Fold My Scale

You can do this now, albeit not dead easily. See my post on constraining with Drum Racks. Thanks. Its cool, but to much work around for me. Especially when jamming out musical ideas it must go at once, or I loose my flow. Prefer to be able to fold and de-fold on the fly, like current fold but with ...

Re: Live 11: Fold my Scale?

If you simply randomly pick notes by ear, then why don't you use the Scale device to create your non-conventional scales? Not nesesarily non-conventional. Simply dont know the names of all the scales that exist. Because I like to see whats going on at the midi note editor! And I sometimes break out...

Bi-Polar Macros

Macro response curves and macro display modes (switch, bipolar) Bi-polarity would be super handy and usefull on so many levels! For example I would need half the macro count on my curent channel strip rack, and it would make almost every knob more flexible at the same time. Like a 1 macro dj filter ...

Fold My Scale

I have no idea what scale I just made, but I like it and I want to fold it with all the octaves available. In fact I never start with a locked scale, I jam and play around until I find something I like. Like probably most people do. For example it could be incorporated in the gui with first hitting ...

Re: Macro update for Live 11.2?

Macro response curves and macro display modes (switch, bipolar) would be very handy. Thanks for making it short and clear Angstrom! this is literally the only time anyone will ever say that sentence ;-) Hahahahah! Yes, thats one of the reasons I dont hang out here so much anymore. Getting older. ;-)
