Re: Consolidate clips in session view
this is my third DAW, and the others didn't have anything LIKE Session... Ableton is my second DAW (as long as I only count those where I wasn't just using a free Version for a few weeks). Before Live I used FL Studio. There you don't have a session view (today it has a VERY basic session view) but...

Exactlywearemindflux wrote:Hey, do you mean like the stereo delay or echo where you have a left time and a right time?
wearemindflux wrote:If so you can do this via a audio rack.
JuSchu wrote:Yes, it's possible to do it with a rack (and I already did it). But that's a workaround for a missing minor change.

Re: Consolidate clips in session view
I'm not a DJ, so I do everything with Live like an Audio Engineer would I was DJing with Ableton for a while a few years ago, but I didn't when I was starting to use Live and I'm not DJing right now. However, I always used the session view more than the arrangement view. It's not just great for liv...

Stereo timing for Grain Delay
Grain Delay is the only delay in Ableton that has not individual stereo control over the timing parameter. It's a really nice effect to brighten up your sound by setting it to +12 semitones and then putting it into a return channel. It would brighten up the sound even more (well, not technically, bu...

Deactivate group tracks for controllers
Group tracks can trigger the clips of the containing tracks like a "sub scene" while not containing any clips themselves. In some situations, this can be useful but in other situation (let's say you only use them to make a sub-mix) they only unnecessarily take up a whole column on controll...

Custom scales for Push and scales at all for the note editor
These are actually two feature requests. One for Push and another one for the note editor. First I wanted to open two topics but there were too many intersections I would have two write on both topics. So it makes more sense to open just one topic. Push can either display only the notes of a certain...

Oh, and of course copy&paste doesn't work with audio clips.

Re: Consolidate clips in session view
But you can just copy and paste which is not much hassle. Just like copying the clips to the arrangement, consolidating them there and copying them back, it interrupts your creative workflow more than just selecting and consolidating them over the context menu. When you copy and paste notes you alw...

Consolidate clips in session view
It would be nice if you could merge several clips into a single one in the session view without switching to the arrangement. Just select multiple clips from the same track, right click, consolidate. Then the old clips are deleted (or not, perhaps that's something for the preferences) and the first ...

Select value to display instead of 0-127 on macros
When you map multiple parameters to a macro, that have not exactly the same type of value, it doesn't show the value of the parameter anymore but only a number between 0 and 127. Even when you map it to two different dry-wet-parameters where one has whole numbers and the other one a decimal point. B...

Make the Amp device go up to eleven
Let's say you're playing a live-act and all your knobs on the Amp are all the way up and you are on the maximum setting in Operator or Wavetable. Where can you go from there? Where? Nowhere. Exactly. So what we should be able to do if we need that extra push over the cliff is to turn it up to eleven...

Re: Push 3 - a groove box!
That would make the Push 3 so much more expensive than it would be without that feature. Just look at the price of an existing groove box and add a big part of that to the price of Push 2. And all the users that would never use that feature would still have to pay the extra price. I think a much bet...

Re: Interacting with Live's API: M4L vs Control Surface Scripts
I have quastion for you too. I started with the Python API with Live 7. Since Live 9 I have to restart Live to reload the script after I edited it. Before Live 9 I only had to go to the settings an deactivate an activate the script. Do you know if there is a way to reload the script without restarti...

Re: Support for Polyphonic Aftertouch
Push can send polyphonic aftertouch. Why can't Live itself do something with this data? Apart from drums in repeat mode Live doesn't use this data. Im not sure if the aftertouch information already is translated into velocity in Push before it's send to live (from my experience in programming Python...
