You will notice a difference: no drivers. Barely any vendor has 64bit drivers out for their hardware.

And any other consumer OS is also predominantly shipped in 32bits - see Linux or Mac OS X. Guess why? Most of the consumers have 32bit hardware with 32bit drivers and intend to run 32bit software on it.

I think it should be possible to write the app in a way that it can distinguish multiple controllers. But I can't really work on it without having a second controller to actually do the testing.

Your ears. Really, you can learn a lot about making muic by listening to other people's music, analyzing and also trying to recreate it. Just take one of your favorite drums on a CD an try to recreate it.

A cheap and IMHO decent option is the piano that comes in Live 6's EIC collection.
