Re: Quick Ableton screen question - midi editor full screen?
You can't really collapse it actually (at least not that I know of), but luckily the effect rack and the midi editor have their own widths. But what probably happens on the videos is that first you make the midi editor as big as you want and then switch between the rack view and the midi view by hit...

Re: Any way to make metronome NOT an undo action?
? Pain in the ass. Click/reclicking metronome everytime you undo a couple editing steps is extremely annoying. I can live without an undo metronome action and just turn it off and on whenever. In a daw without comping, you at least want to rerecord a part a little more fluidly without forgetting ev...

Re: Anyone here use Apples Time Capsule?
really really slow to backup via wifi and the capsule will be running constantly in the corner. Much more effective to use Time Machine and just an external HD. Exactly my experience with backup via WiFi with my Time Capsule. It's painfully slow. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal because of it b...

Re: Anyone here use Apples Time Capsule?
I don't have Time Capsule, but used to backup via Airport Extreme into a HD (same principle). I really can't recommend it. Especially if you have lots of new data, it's really really slow to backup via wifi and the capsule will be running constantly in the corner. Much more effective to use Time Mac...

Re: Studio One is leaving Ableton in the dust.
Before anyone try Studio One, Reaper seems the better choice. Melodyne is integrated when you had buy a license, Melodyne needs a I-Lok. I cannot compare Live & Studio One. Bitwig is more similar but we all have to wait what it brings. Maybe a lot of bugs at first & really good improvements...

Tap tempo for "conducting" orchestra
I wish you could tap tempo for orchestral scores as well. In orchestral tap tempo every tap is the place of a beat and metronome sounds every time you hit tap. This is not what's happening currently, they are somehow separated which I'm sure is good for other kinds of music, but not for orchestral, ...

Re: Winter NAMM 2012 thread..
I'm really excited about the update on Roland HD-1 V-drums, they are introducing HD-3 Lite! It's just as compact as HD-1, but with (according to their words) better feel on the toms (now fabric-coated or something) and bass drum. Snare and cymbal now have two triggers, so you can play rim shots and ...

Re: Realistic Violin sound
Do you mean solo or ensemble? Well, LA Scoring Strings solves both I guess. You can buy only-solo or only-full strings as a cheaper package. Although these aren't completely dry violins for indie pop for example. But if you buy the full version, you get an extra instrument called Xtra 1st chair viol...

Re: Scoring a Film on Ableton?
Does anyone know how, or if it's possible, to score a film using Ableton? The main issue is video sync thanks If you write music directly in Live, having video as a reference, there's no problem with sync at all. Video plays synced to your project the way you place it. I'm currently scoring a featu...

Re: Trilian is rad to the bone
I agree, it's an awesome product. I bought it for the upright and electric bass, but the synth basses that come with it are sound so amazing. As a side note, I would say the absolutely best purchases I ever did (for my needs) were Altiverb, Additive Drumds and then LA Scoring Strings. Trilian among ...

Re: Live 9 countdown
Just a request - please stop posting so many threads about this. You know that the answer is going to be the same. If you must, please move these to the Lounge. What's wrong with customers wanting a new version of software? Doesn't that just mean more money for Ableton? I know there are tens of tho...

Smart plugin-crash-management and replacing old plugins
Some ideas concerning plugin crashes and managing obsolete plugin versions: -is there a way Live could "sandbox" plugins so that if they crash, they won't crash whole Live, instead just die themselves? And maybe Live could even prompt to restore them automatically from Undo buffer? -plugin...
