Re: A simple trick for realistic hi-hats

Good one. Similar: in Sampler, set about 5-6% of random panning, and a similar amount for detune.
Then add a very short hardly noticeable reverb that also has some modulation going on.

Re: Assign knob to MIDI Ctrl controllers

You're right! Awesome, it works like a charm now. I needed to tweak the cutoff on the synth a bit as if to 'remind' it that messages were being sent (something like that). Thanks!

Re: Assign knob to MIDI Ctrl controllers

Well, I found that one already but I couldn't figure out how to make it send to Controller 17. (By Controller 17 what I mean is this, in the Midi Ctrl section: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/18680315/Controller.png ) I can draw in envelopes there and the cutoff of my synth responds, so midi mes...

Assign knob to MIDI Ctrl controllers

Hi everyone, I use a Poly-61 synthesizer. In its original form its parameters such as cutoff need to be edited through push buttons, however, I got it modded with a midi kit that allows me to control its cutoff from Ableton. The way to do that is by going to a Midi Clip, then Envelopes > select MIDI...

someone on this post said never to trust advice on this forum If you're either referring to this post: Do not rely on the forum for everything lol... Or my post: The best tip I can think of is to not rely on tips and other people telling you what to do. .. then you're misreading the message :) We'r...

Re: Can't make a choice for a soundcard (Fireface, Octa-Capture)

so I don't think I need much IN/OUT ... - If you want be able to plug your TR-8 and be able to work with the 11 separated channels in Ableton, don't you need at least those 11 channels? Or does the TR-8 allow to output it's sound through USB? I think any card will give you low latency these days. T...

Re: Officially bought live suite yesterday...any tips

The best tip I can think of is to not rely on tips and other people telling you what to do. Instead, dive into it and start using it everyday until you feel you know it like you know your best friend. Really, in learning music production or any similar craft there is no substitute to learning by doi...

Re: Can't make a choice for a soundcard (Fireface, Octa-Capture)

I bought a TC electronics Studio Konnekt 48 for € 500,- about a year ago. I could promote it for a great sound-quality-to-price ratio. It sounds absolutely great, has great amps etc. There is a blind-test thread on Gearslutz between it and a UC card; I found the TC to sound just fine compared to the...

In that vid, Legowelt also clicks in a 303 bassline by the way, so no shame in that ;)

Re: Troy Pierce + Heartthrob's "Timeline"

You say this was discussed more when it came out - if you know where this was discussed in depth, please point me to it. Hm, maybe it was just me and my circle of friends who were into the Minus packs back then (just read they were released in 2010 even), and I might have read more about it on a fo...

He explains it in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkF5VxCsuUE Smart tip, that timeline.

I felt they were discussed quite a lot when they came out (in 2011 or something like that?) but perhaps not on here.

Re: snapper vs. audiofinder?

Snapper looks visually more appealing to me, and seems to be more on point with what I need. Upon first glance audiofinder seems to be a bit of an overkill. I'll demo both starting with Snapper due to the 100 day trial period. I'd rather not pay high prices to work around an OS bug, but the demo per...

I’m confused. Have those Volvo’s been produced in Ableton Live?
