Re: Need your help. Taking back my life
As for the career bit you say you "start making money through music" and that you "have no other option left". You really think music will provide money? Quite a few established artists with records out and touring struggle for money. You also say that you "suck at studies&...

Re: Need your help. Taking back my life
anyway, you are always working on it with less passion and more stressed if you have to make a living of it. there is always this pressing in the back of your head. I gave up on trying to make money from this ever harder becoming business and I can say that I enjoy making music way more than ever be...

Re: Monitorbox - Mixing - Translation
for your china TV: every cheap device sucks in another way. having a translation to one of them doesn't mean it'll work on other ones. usually, people use so called "grot boxes" like the avantone mix cubes. they don't sound well but are good for evaluating middle frequencies. but the best ...

Re: Best ID3 tag editor - Mac
iTunes sadly isn't able to edit numeric fields like year and track no. from the list view. You tediously have to enter the info window for that. but OTOH, for organizing your library, you can enhance itunes' tagging capabilites and related stuff w/ apple scripts big way on a mac. Just check http://d...

Re: Too risky to buy a firewire interface these days?
in general, luckily, nowadays even USB 2 devices can be as fast and reliable as FW devices. given that a company writes good drivers. USB 2 still sucks in terms of power supply and different connectors. A MOTU Ultralite hybrid can be FW bus powered, but not via USB. I am on a 828 mk3 and want to siz...

Re: Open/Save Buttons
no offense but… how often do open/save? I guess there is a ton of creative features that push could support before it starts going to support such minor things.
there is limited space in the layout and it all needs to make sense for the entire concept. you have to focus when designing such a device.

Re: Make Beat Repeat working with more than just 4/4 signature
IIRC, I contacted the support and they told me that there is no workaround for that yet - it just was not part of beat repeat's concept to work in any "strange" grid. :( I just added a feature request in the public beta forum - go there and vote up to gain visibility to the Ableton develop...

Re: Mac specifications help needed please
1st: All Macbooks now have SSDs. The MBP introduced them with the Retinas in 2012, the Air w/ the 2010 design and the new Macbook in 2015. 2nd: For everyday use you'll be recognizing the advantages of an SSD over a HDD way sooner than more CPU power. CPU is important for heavy processing in big Live...

Re: Multiple Hard Drives - which are best for what?
It is almost 2016. SSDs are around for about 5 years and prices drop. except for backups and huge storage, I see no use for conventional drives anymore.

Re: Audio Interface in Preferences
there simply is no way as of now. you have to have your interface connected and turned on to be ready for your set. if you turn it on later, you might have to select it manually as soon as it is booted to be recognized.

Re: Multiple Hard Drives - which are best for what?
Now, if you 'collect all and save' to the 3rd drive, am I right or wrong in thinking that when you fire up that project, it'll be reading the samples and audio saved in your project from this (Audio drive) as well as writing new audio to the same drive? that seems reasonable to me. but why begin to...

Re: Behringer XTouch Transport Question
try to hold shift on your keyboard while you're hitting play again. this works at least for pressing space on the keyboard to resume from the last stopped position instead of the static marker.
