Re: Multi FX VST/AU ?
patchwork is probably a better option. the other one I've seen is nyrv agent: http://my.nyrvsystems.com/store/product/1 this one also lets you create custom interfaces for your custom rack, so it's really the closest version to a cross-platform rack I can think of. both are about $99, but there is a...

Re: UNABLE TO OPEN 9.6 projects in 9.7 - crashes immed
are these recent projects from a recent upgrade? if so, ignore me, but if they aren't, and you deleted a plugin that the loaded set is using, that can cause the problem. even if it's something like e.g. you upgraded Reaktor 5 to Reaktor 6, and then removed Reaktor 5. if an old set uses Reaktor 5 whi...

Re: Superior Drummer 2 vs built in drum racks (session drums)
session drums is pretty good, imho. though a few weird things in the rack programming, it's generally pretty useful out of the box. things like superior drummer, bfd, etc. are generally better at the finer points of realism though - cymbal back-to-back hits (and cymbals in general, they are really h...

Re: Touchable question- Can you use touchable without wires?
you could just bring your own wifi router. there are some relatively small ones (quick google search found this: http://nerdtechy.com/best-portable-mini-travel-wifi-router-2016, some of those are about the size of a phone). which brings me to: your phone can probably create a personal hotspot. i hav...

Re: Dear god tell me this is possible
if you actually want to force pitches, you need to detect pitch, and then shift it... so autotune. zynaptiq pitchmap is actually the closest i've seen to what you want, but afaik it doesn't process transients, so maybe not that effective for drums (but worth a try if you have it... it was recently o...

Re: Wow! 16 GB not enough RAM?
Yes, The odd thing was that even though the Performance was somewhere around 147% , I did not notice any degradation in Audio quality! Which I thought was odd. First of all, I didn't know that it was even possible to go over 100%! and second of all, I would have thought when it gets that high you w...

Re: Python framework updated to 2.7 - any new features ?
2.7 isn't a dramatic difference from 2.6.
few new standard features (dict/set comprehensions are the one I appreciated when going to python 2.7) but not really that much.
most people won't really notice the difference.

Re: 96Khz. Why?
it's like taking a picture with a higher resolution... pixels are smaller and thus you can zoom in deeper while keeping lots of detail. This is actually plain false and a lot of the confusion about this topic stems from exactly this misleading analogy. 96kHz does NOT lead to a finer resolution of a...

Re: 96Khz. Why?
That's mostly what I was referring to when I said "modern DSP is so damn good". Usually when there might be an issue that affects audio quality, oversampling is employed anyway. andy//cytomic said once that most of the cheaper oversampling filters aren't linear phase... meaning they intro...

Re: SSD: Will it help give my laptop some life support?
the C2D is pretty old - you might get a lot of value out of upgrading, even if it's only to a newer used machine; i'd go for at least a 2nd gen Core machine if you can. this page is pretty helpful for showing the differences: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7003/the-haswell-review-intel-core-i74770k-i...

this won't apply to most people, but they can also be used for submixes e.g. monitor sends for live musicians.
