Re: Is 8.1.3 backwards compatible?
Yes it is. but not forward... that means you can open projects made with previous versions on 8.1.3 BUT you cannot open projects made with 8.1.3 on future releases i.e.: 8.2 UNLESS Ableton specify that 'yes you can' on the download section.... I'm assuming you typo'd at the end there, otherwise thi...

Re: Live 8.1.1 is online! (change log included)
Ableton, your (our) method of beta-testing needs to be adjusted. Many users (including myself) who's help you dearly need are not having the willpower and time to install all the endless expiring beta versions. During the "quality"-perioid it would be smart move from your part to now and ...

Re: new tron legacy trailer - daft punk score???
The music in the trailer shouldn't be taken as heavily representative of the score as a whole. While I'm sure they were involved in the music for the trailer, trailer music is highly, highly functional in nature, and therefore bound to be pretty formulaic, etc. Like here, the glitchy stuff at the en...

From now on, this is how I'm going to answer any question about the differences between two things.djsynchro wrote:It's like the difference between the 303 and the 808 only different.

Re: $119 and NI can make you sound like Alicia Keys
Pretty sure this is just another rebranded Scarbee product, one which was available from them for a little while before NI bought him out. So, can't really call it "NI running out of ideas" if they're just starting to sell a 6 month old sampled piano (one that honestly sounds pretty good ...

Well, at the very least we can say that they've run out of Scarbee products to rebrand!

Re: Korg MicroKontrol - any good...?
I wouldn't use them for drumming either, but I do like my Microkontrol! It's just not useful for drum programming (but then I don't usually use pads for that, and if I want to, I have a Launchpad).

Re: is Ableton a Cocoa application?
I'm pretty sure they're still using Carbon, and they've said in numerous interviews and job postings that Live is implemented primarily in C++. However, the fact that they're using C++ and are developing a cross-platform app. doesn't preclude them from moving to Cocoa (hopefully sooner rather than l...

Re: Live & Logic Lovers... have you been aware of...?
Thing is, I do the exact opposite...I prefer to route Logic into Live (and yes Live will not act as a host when Rewiring the two for some fuct stoopid reason) I use JackPilot for the routing---It may seem retarded to some, but whatever---Its my own jive to dive. This is a Logic thing, actually. Not...

Re: Live & Logic Lovers... have you been aware of...?
I see what you mean yeah, we all have our particular habits. Do you think that maybe, it could lead to a better sound quality ? Not because of live sound engine - this has been discussed a zillion times - but because maybe Logic had some awesome plugins for mixing/mastering ? (I never used Logic, I...

Re: Live & Logic Lovers... have you been aware of...?
I might also embarass myself here, but why do you need to mixdown in logic ? Can't you simply mixdown in live and don't bother with exporting single tracks and/or rewire ? These days, honestly, it's habit. I did it initially because at the time, I felt like Logic (or as it was at the time for me, L...

Re: Live & Logic Lovers... have you been aware of...?
I do rewire Love to Logic a bit. I do it infrequently enough that I always forget how to setup the channels in Logic properly, and have to go find a video on YouTube. I usually do this when I want to record some vocals or some guitar/bass or other external audio into something that I've been working...
