Re: The library mess
The problem with explaining the problem is I feel like I'm trying to explain the colour orange to colour blind people. "But the brown is great" Firstly it's worth reiterating that the L8 browser is not good. It is a basic OS filetree browser. Filetrees are not good for discovering sounds ...

Tags, the ability to filter and search tags via in the browser. Also the ability to search instrument "info" text via the browser. Once I see this in action, I'll upgrade.

Great idea! Throw in searchable metadata or tags, or even just searchable notes and I will upgrade!

Anything to help sort & search in the Live browser is a good thing.

Re: Ableton 9 Browser - FAVORITES, STAR, AND FEEDBACK
Kinda useless really... considering that there are much desired missing features that should really have been added prior to all this. The ability for the user to tag their clips, samples, racks & instruments is easy enough to implement (in the right hands), yet is strangely lacking from the Liv...

Re: Browser: Tags (ala Kontakt database)
Lack of tags in Ableton Live 9 are preventing me from updating. I would have updated in a heartbeat if they'd developed such a system.

Re: New look Ableton website.
Modern? You gotta be kidding me. It looks like the website has been cut & pasted from Geocities. When I logged on to it over the weekend, I seriously thought Ableton had been hacked due to the recent Live 9 news. But nope, this is a fate far worse than being hacked... THE MARKETING DEPARTMENT HA...

Re: Music Tags Show In New Browser? Step Sequence Melody In Key?
I did ask about the new browser on here recently, but it didn't get answered, so I sent the question directly to Ableton David......who also didn't answer. I asked whether the new browser used a database file to store locations. They said it was fast, so I'm thinking it does. I also wondered if the...

Which could be done with metadata/tags, plus a search function to search the data.simpli.cissimus wrote:What I would like to see, is the ability to see the key of the samples in the browser.

Re: Ableton main website - what happened?
That's the vibe I'm getting too, and it scares the shit out of me. Ableton used to be solid, and now I ask myself, what the fuck did I do to deserve this sore excuse of a website? Geocities was taken offline for a reason.deutero wrote:Trying to out-rectangle Microsoft...
