Re: Question Reason Owner for Ableton live 8 upgrade to 9
Although I really wanted Reason 6.5 to be the end-all, be-all solution for me, the sequencing falls way short, and the "cool factor" of virtual cables diminished quickly. I spent about 2 years working in Reason and then decided to go back to Live after years away. I've gotten more done in ...

Re: Sound is distorted. Audio engine problems ?
My tastes are all over the board; I enjoy electronic music (my first synth was a Roland Jupiter 4 that I bought used in 1982 when I was 13) and I'm also a huge fan of punk, post-punk and shoegaze and enjoy writing guitar driven stuff as well. The current studio is based on a 27" iMac (quad core...

Re: NI Kore Player
Right. The nice thing when you save it as an instrument rack is it even remembers the patch, so I have presets saved for things like the Scarbee Rickenbacker, Studio Drummer with each of the kits loaded, Massive with the macro controls, et cetera. Then I just drag the present on to a track and I hav...

Re: Sound is distorted. Audio engine problems ?
Fair, and I took the bait. :) True story - I wasted way too many hours back in the Windows XP days trying to build a stable PC DAW. Went to Mac back around 2007 and never looked back. The CoreAudio bug in Mountain Lion sucks, though I've found turning off WiFi definitely helps me focus more when I'm...

Re: Push & APC 40
I like faders, so for me, Push would need to be REALLY special to replace the APC40.

Re: Sound is distorted. Audio engine problems ?
Actually, there is no OSX update for that. Nice try though - don't let the truth get in the way of a good story. "Useless", indeed.

Really? I'm a "fanboy" for answering a tech question? I did PC DAW for 10 years.

Re: Are you getting PUSH?
I like the idea of Push, but as I already have a APC 40 and like having faders, I'd need to sit down and play with Push to see if it's really $300 better than what I already have.

Re: Sound is distorted. Audio engine problems ?
Macs don't have nearly the plethora of bugs you see in Windows, but they exist. This is a pretty huge one and impacts anything using CoreAudio.

Re: NI Kore Player
The way I do it for the NI instruments with macro controls is to drop the plugin in an Instrument Rack, hit Configure, and then click on the 8 macro controls. Use learn to map them to the knobs on the controller and save as a preset.

Re: Sound is distorted. Audio engine problems ?
If you're running Mountain Lion, it's a bug in CoreAudio. The fix is to turn off WiFi (really, I wish I were joking) and turn it back on.

Re: Recording electric guitar into live
I've tried POD Farm, Amplitube and NI Guitar Rig and of the three, Guitar Rig is the "keeper." Simple to use, GREAT modeling. Honestly, the amp and cabs in Live would do if you have no other choice, but the money for Guitar Rig is a pittance. If you can afford it, Komplete 8 for $400 gives...

Re: March the 5th!!!!!!!!!!
If it's any consolation, it cost me almost $400 USD to upgrade from Live 6, which I had more or less retired, to Live 8 Suite with a free upgrade to Live 9 Suite. Can't wait for 5 March!

Re: Live 9 Suite Upgrade Price Drop FINALLY
I take it this is the upgrade price from Live 8.X? I'm still seeing $382 for my upgrade from Live 6.X (yeah, I know... ) to Live 8 Suite with a free upgrade to Live 9 Suite upon release.
