Re: Bitwig vs Ableton - PDC Test (Video)

Okay. So my main curiosity, as I have no experience with the concepts of PDC. Is it a type of thing where it is essential for production, but at the same time if you were doing live recordings, would introduce some frustrating latencies? I just wonder if that is a factor which affects Ableton's dec...

Re: Bitwig vs Ableton - PDC Test (Video)

Way too anal for me. Yes, I hear the delay. OK, now you compare a filter in Live against a compressor in Bitwig. Hello? Then you set up a theoretical example in the second vid where you expect to hear no overlap between the filters but you do. OK, I hear it but why would I ever want to do that in t...

Re: Bitwig is basically junk

I agree, i't complete rubbish. I have tortured myself a bit out of curiosity to test PDC and plug in performance, but the whole thing is so painful to use, and so backward and limited, it's rather humorous that anyone would call it a revolution...unless they meant, a revolution on how BAD a *modern*...

Re: Bitwig is the Killa!

I know it's probably a very unusual opinion here on the Live forums, but .... I like Live :-) (And I think it was well worth the money!) I do to, and I don't see a reason to switch to or even add Bitwig Studio to my setup. I think live is far superior and if apple dumped logic tomorrow i know it we...

Re: The Bitwig evaluation thread

Changing between Logic and Cubase every year? what are you on.. can i have some? Such a distorted view of life must be fun in some ways.. I used Cubase from 2005-2008 on windows after using only logic from 1997-2005. Apple stopped the win version in 2001, and i used it for as long as I could before...

Re: The Bitwig evaluation thread

Look, i waited like everyone else, and was semi excited about bitshit, and if i thought it was at least decent intuitive software with even the most basic features, i would be following it closely and hoping the best for it and that it became a real contender. But instead we get half baked mega del...

Re: The Bitwig evaluation thread

PDC is fixed in Bitwig. Works fine. April Fools!!! No. PDC is fixed and works fine. That's all. so automation being in sync means working pdc? Before that fix bitwig pdc was identical to live.. identical! So you know who to blame to screw up live's pdc to begin with! All the other limitations are s...

Re: Bitwig should have been called Ballbag

Darn, bitshit.com is taken and for sale at $2195.

Edit, ok, .com.au is available. This will be a bit of a fun project.

Grabbing now.

Re: Bitwig should have been called Ballbag

Bitshit has precisely two things going for it. It's pretty, and the timestretch quality is absurdly good using the stretch HD mode. Otherwise, almost all other DAWs look like a state of the art software from the future in comparison. I spent the first 4 days demoing and crashing (and losing all my w...

Re: The Bitwig evaluation thread

I still don't understand the bitwig 2.0 thing. 26 months from when "in beta" was put out and they were talking about 2.0 when there was no 1.0 (giant headbang) You're right.. something's a little off when a DAW as anticipated as Bitwig debuts and it's the next version everyone's talking a...

Re: Bitwig

Bitwig has a whole bunch of features that are on a whole nother level compared to Live.. I think the Abes should really take notes from these gentlemen. Yes, Ableton should drop multi-output VST support, input quantize, and tap tempo from Live so they can be on the cutting edge like Bitwig. ...

Re: Bitwig

Ableton should take notes from these gentlemen So, you are saying Ableton should copy some features from Bitwig. I think that might cause a recursion error. LOL if anything it should be reversed.. bitwig has one or two cool things and the rest is not even in the same league as live. Years of waitin...

Re: The Bitwig evaluation thread

I honestly think it's the biggest pile of overpriced rubbish I have ever tried. What a joke. All the hype, 3 years buildup, and it's like a kiddie toy in comparison to the other stuff currently available, without the kiddy toy price. I can be honest about it here, at KVR I have to be nice or will ge...

it's not just automation, effects with rhythm lock can be completely out of time.
