You could try unplugging any controllers you have too, just in case there’s some underlying driver issue

Find the VST. Turn them all off/on until you find the culprit. In Session view, you can see the track(s) using the most resources by looking at the left-right bars near the bottom of the tracks. You may have to toggle a view on to see this, on the lower right. Not at my Mac right now so can’t check…...

If you’re talking about mixing, not performing or tracking, then you should just be able to increase the buffer size. Something like 512 or 1024 should do

It’s not a problem it’s how things work. Audio tracks take Audio effects and MIDI tracks take MIDI effects

It’s probably your Sample Rate. In Settings > Audio
Try switching it to 44100 and recording again

1 and 2 are typically default so you have 2 mono out... or a Stereo pair 7 or 7/8 would be 7 mono or 7/8 stereo, respectively.
