There's a tutorial built into Live on setting up your audio...have you gone through it? Most problems with high latencies are from user error.

Louder, maybe, fuller...well try comparing both tracks at the same level. Louder always sounds fuller. It's the way our brains perceive sound.

So you are claiming that the volume difference only happens with Battery and Omnisphere but not with any other instruments routed to audio tracks?

It's also an option in Logic, but not in Ableton.

I'll play devil's advocate even though I use FF and REW all the time with Live. DAW transports are just a holdover from the days of tape. Did you install the Roland drivers? The user manual says they are required, none of the Roland instruments are USB class compliant.

Google the term divisi. This is where many string libraries fall short. Only expensive ones seem to support this.
