Issues mapping drum pads and keys to seperate midi channels.

Hi guys, I've been having a few issues with a new Alesis VI25 keyboard I've just purchased. I'm trying to set it up so I can trigger vocal samples on the drum pads, but at the same time have a Rhodes VST assigned to the keys. I want to do this without them playing the samples together at the same ti...

Re: Using sample rate to create half time effect?

Thanks for the reply. Just had a search around, but can't seem to find any decent tutorials. How would I go about doing this?

Using sample rate to create half time effect?

I actually stumbled across this by accident. I noticed that if you change the sample rate, you get some really cool effects. This is probably common knowledge, but I love the half time effect it creates. I was wondering if there was a way to export the audio and still keep the effect? If I change th...

Can anyone with a good ear, ID this synth?

I've heard it in quite a few tracks now, and I just love the sound. Forgive me if it's a complete classic that I'm somehow missing, but if anyone has an idea, that would be great! I thought possibly a Moog, but could anyone be a bit more specific in getting the sound? Thanks in advance (It's the syn...

Re: Been learning Ableton from scratch for the last 2 months.

I find the bass muddy and overwhelming. HAVING SAID THAT if this is what you can do after only two months, then 8O + Good general vibe + Relaxed song structure - Poor mixing - Over reliance on Beat Repeat style effects (which are also introducing unintentional clicks) Tip 1: If you're repeating by ...

Re: Been learning Ableton from scratch for the last 2 months.

Would anyone mind letting me know how the mix sounds? Especially the bass. I just got a new pair of monitors, so just trying to position them correctly for the flattest response.

If you could let me know whether the mix sounds dull overall, or too much bass etc.

Muchos apreciados

Re: Been learning Ableton from scratch for the last 2 months.

Nice and original work. To polish it further, you should track down and find solutions to suppress the occasional clicks, my guess is on the guitar slices. Thanks! Do you mean the clicks at the very beginning when it's just the guitar playing? I've only just noticed that. The other clicks are there...

Been learning Ableton from scratch for the last 2 months.

Been learning to use Ableton for the past couple of months, so thought I'd post this up. I've literally just got a new pair of monitors, so still getting to grips with the mixing. Also, I really need to get some bass traps, so forgive me if anything sounds a little out of place. Recorded all the gui...

Re: Mackie MR5MK2's or Yamaha HS80M's? (Studio monitor question)

HS80M has a nice sound and indeed a little sharp in the upper mid. For a more true sound, I'd recommend Adam A5X. They sound quite unforgiving and scale nicely. For example, the A3X will sound nearly identical to an A5X at equal low volumes. As you scale up, they just go louder. The A8X and A77X ar...

Re: Mackie MR5MK2's or Yamaha HS80M's? (Studio monitor question)

Conflicting views.. Interesting.. well that's made this decision a whole lot more confusing! lol Monitors are such a personal thing and people do & can create mixes that translate with those Yamahas, just for what I like from a speaker, they wouldn't be for me. What you need to identify is wher...
