Re: Soundsnap - what do you think?
I use a lot of sound fx and foley type stuff mixed in with my music. I like to have an easy to search database with a ton of high quality fx and samples. Never know when I need someone snoring or the sound of a train station in Tokyo. User friendly searching, large library and high quality without b...

Soundsnap - what do you think?
I usually use Freesound.org, but I've been looking around for another source of high quality sound fx and samples. I guess soundsnap used to be free, but now they want $250 for an annual unlimited membership. What do you think? Is it worth it? Any reasonably priced alternatives?

Re: Convince me to buy PUSH (or not)
I'm a guitar player and 1/2 assed keyboardist. I bought Push about 3 or 4 months ago, mainly upgrading to Live9 Suite ( I don't use plug ins) to use Push. I have been away from Live for a while and mainly just playing guitar while travelling a bit. Downloaded the 9.1 update a couple of weeks ago an...

Oh, ok. Didn't see that. So now how does this compare with the Mac Pro:fishmonkey wrote:you can't get the quad-core with the 13", you have to step up to the 15"...

Re: Old Mac Pro vs New Macbook Pro
I'm not seeing that as an option on the new Macbook ProTomViolenz wrote:Why would you think that?So I'd be going from 2 quad cores to a 2.8GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7, which I guess is a single quad core
You would be going from 8 cores to 2 with your suggestion...why not get the Quad core i7?

Thank you for that!
Thanks! Definitely leaning towards it. I think I can get one at Guitar Center with a 10 or 15% off coupon and I believe they have a 30 day money back guarantee.

But overall you'd see it as a step-up speed/processing-wise in addition to the fact that I can use it to gig with?Tarekith wrote:Probably a subtle increase in raw CPU power, but the SSD will likely make everything feel a lot faster more than the CPU.

Re: Convince me to buy PUSH (or not)
Hmm, it depends a bit on what the 'deciders' would be for you. One thing I will mention is that there is no comparison between e.g. the pads on TouchAble and Push. Push's pads have a degree of responsiveness and sensitivity that allows expressive playing. Hence all the talk about Push being an inst...

Convince me to buy PUSH (or not)
I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on one. Here's the thing. I make weird sorta ambient music, have never played it live (although I'd like to at some point, but haven't found a way to play my music live in an interesting way, beyond just pushing a few buttons and staring at a laptop). I've got ...

Re: [RELEASE] Omnisphere VST Presets for Push
Is it possible to browse and load both Omnisphere and Komplete 9 presets with Push using both your solution and another 3rd party solution? My solution will allow all Omnisphere presets to be browsable on Push and on the Touchable ipad app. Only allows for the factory ones and will look at expandin...

Re: Native Instruments KOMPLETE 9 Sale
@david.barker - If you own some NI stuff, you have an account with them. Log in to NI with that account, navigate to Komplete or Komplete Ultimate, and check the pricing. If you are eligible, it will show you. I got that email and checked it out. Like the OP, I was able to pick up Komplete Ultimate...

Native Instruments KOMPLETE 9 Sale
I just bought Komplete 9 Ultimate for $374.50, which is a pretty damn good deal if you ask me: http://www.native-instruments.com/en/specials/thanksgiving-xxl/ No deals on new purchases that I can see, but upgrades and cross-grades are 50% off right now. Jump on it! I've had little bits and pieces of...

Re: MIDI Guitar vs Roland GK-3 and Roland GI-20 vs GR-55
That's pretty cool! Latency is not that great, but still pretty impressive. How do I get it to record MIDI though?
