The rough part is that I can't really try the CME - it's used at my friend's audio distro. But I figure I'm getting such a good deal on it, and since I'm just learning, it's a good place to start.

I could try things in a local store, but I would barely know what I was feeling.

After much to do (and eventually getting my FMDJ9303 to work), I decided to go for the CME. I figure I already have a Trigger Finger, so that gives me all the drumpad and knob functionality I need, so the additional controls on say, a Keystation or MPK aren't that big of a deal. Cool. Yeah, I use Enigma for my Trigger Finger and it's pretty asstastic. Do you have piano training? I ask because I'm curious how you like the key action compared to an actual piano. I read some reviews and a lot of people were complaining.

Have you had it for a while? How durable is it?

I'm going to be using Ableton, if that matters in this debate at all - you just mentioned a bunch of software stuff that I don't have.

I've just fooled around on the semi-weighted Keystation keys, and they felt all right. I guess I don't know what I'm feeling, to be honest, as I'm not a keyboard player.
