Re: Dummy clip effect racks

Great tip man - have long wished for a simple solution to this! One small thing I can add is this: When making a Dummy Clip to control a Macro (that has multiple parameters already mapped to it) - instead of inverting the values of all those parameters, just group the rack (which will make it a rack...

the most annoying thing i just realized about this bug.. is that if you are sketching up in session view, you have no way to get back to 1.1.1 unless you switch to arrange and manually click the timeline. do you confirm this? double-stop does return you to 1.1.1 even from session it just doesn't di...

[amo] operator view "locked" /clip overview doesn't work

when SOME parameters of Operator are selected, clicking on the midi clip's overview display won't toggle away from operator. one example is Pitch Envelope the midi modulation section in the global display is another - select any of those parameters, and the view is "locked" to operator shi...

pasting the same loops into a new set reproduces the problem starting a new set, pasting the clips in, then repeating the record to arrange will reproduce the problem starting a new set then dragging those same clips in fresh from the browser DOESN'T reproduce the clicks dragging new clip 1 in then ...

was just about to post the same thing... some more info: double-stop WILL work if a clip in arrange has been selected first double-stop WILL work when the Arrangement Playback Position cursor is on (or has been set to) a grid-line it WON'T work when the Arrangement Playback Position cursor is alread...

[awi] 8.b9 clicks introduced when triggering clips

seemingly erratic, but there are a few consistencies: triggering one audio clip then triggering another on the same track results in a loud click - the click appears again when retriggering the new clip - on the third retrigger and beyond, the click is gone - play clip 1 then clip 2 again, and the c...

I don't mind how it's done, but yeah, my vote goes for any improvement to the current method of reverse-engineering clip envelopes of all prior clips in order to effect change in one clip (channel sends, for example)

Instead of a template set, you could save a live set into the browser containing one track with the level you want and the input settings you prefer any time you want to create a new track, grab it from the browser (have that set bookmarked). Not exactly what you're after, still involves some manual...

Re: A few workflow tweaks for Live 8 (if not already done)

all of these ill-conceived enhancements, are ill-conceived. They would harrow the workflow of many users. the enhancement suggested in step 5 would not harrow a single user. having the lengths of follow actions and loop-braces match the clip length would help anyone who uses the loop button or foll...

Hi Charlie, do you know you can right-click on the clip's end-marker, then select "loop current region" to make it loop correctly? it means you have to split the section you want first, but it saves having to create new audio files as happens with consolidate. The added benefit that all t...

Haha, thanks.

I'm sure it will all make more sense to me when I see it in action. And I'm sure it'll be awesome. Cheers for your help!

I've got the DJ-1 and have used it for years, and is great on-stage (or in booths) cos if it's size.

Now I use real mixers when performing live and only use it for mix cd's or traveling between gigs, so I might sell it if you're interested?
