If you are asking how to get one voice to replace another, then just set up choke groups between the pads. You will have to activate a certain button on the drum rack interface to see them. Set all the pads to the same choke group to get the desired effect.

MPD 24 is working fine here on my Mac. I just have it selected as a control surface in Live 7.0.3 and it seems to work as it should, with knobs already mapped, etc.

Nice find. I really enjoy ambient field recording stuff as well. Have you checked out Quiet American? If not, I highly recommend it for fans of environmental recordings:

I had a crippling gear addiction for years, and I spent so much money and time researching and buying gear. At least for me, the more time I spend looking at gear and buying it, the less I actually know about what I want to do. Pretty soon I had a studio full of too much hardware/software, overwhelm...

I shared your pain until very recently, when I realized that I was way too much of a control freak to create music with pre-made sounds. The reason for this being that I want to have ALL the sounds available to me if I'm going to do it right. Since then, I have been forcing myself to create my own s...

This probably isn't the answer that you want, but it's all a matter of taste. These are two different tools that color your sound in interesting ways, and it's up to you to figure out what you want through trial and error. Just trust your ears, and take a look at an oscilloscope and spectral analyze...

Agreed, great tracks and the charity is a good one. Also not a bad way to show off what Elektron instruments can do.

A friend of mine just picked up the MD without the UW option about a week ago, and he is already regretting it. He loves the machine so much, but the RAM machine stuff you can do is incredible. Check it out on Youtube sometime. I find it impossible NOT to get inspired by that machine. Must... resist...

Ahh yes, I see what you're saying. I would second the modulation envelope suggestion as well, or try one of the LFOs.

You should be able to create a couple of automation lanes in the arrangement view and select sample start and sample end in the drop down menus. From there, you can draw in the automation data using the red lines that appear on the track. Alternatively, assign knobs to the parameters you wish to aut...
