Re: Mac just as good as any other PC when run windows 7 on it ?
There are basically three things that (may!) make a Mac better a better choice than a Windows PC: * OS X. (That's not to say that Apple's OS's are always better than Microsoft's, for all tasks, or at any given point in history.) * The OS and the hardware comes from the same manufacturer. * The desig...

Re: Fix the sync issues now !! yes or no ?
live had a good clock output,,but now its glitching when you cahnge the track selection on screen.. You obviously didn't read my post in the other thread, so I'm writing it again: The track selection glitch that you experienced is certainly caused by MIDI feedback (status update) messages which Liv...

Re: Session Drums - Limitations?
The Multimic kits default to having a Hi-Hat openness macro knob. You can assign this to a MIDI CC if you Hi-Hat pedal sends CCs. The knob's there in the non-multimic kits too. But you shouldn't assign this to CC4 - CC4 is already assigned to control openness. So you get all sorts of weird effects ...

Re: Session Drums - Limitations?
that's cool you can actually play Well, sort of... 8) Not worthy that kit really! i thought positional sensing was more than that, too bad it doesn't sound any better... Well, positional sensing on its own doesn't make any sound at all, it's just the name of the technology that sense where you play...

Re: Session Drums - Limitations?
i like to vary hitting the hihat with the tip of the stick and the shank So that's what "shank" means in Session Drums! I never figured that one out, I've always been thinking "shank, what shank, the shank of the hi-hat, what's that???"... It never occurred to me that it was the...

Re: RME: Latency lowest with FW, USB, or ?
Thanks for clearing that up Nico! It did seem to me that Machine's interpretation implied that inserting a plug-in would allow for lower latency than not inserting it, which would of course be a bit weird... 8) Would you mind commenting on dancerchris' post too? Or rather, about the proper use of d...

Re: RME: Latency lowest with FW, USB, or ?
No, plugin buffers will always add to the audio buffer. Let's assume you have an audio buffer of 256 samples and the plugin buffer size in the CPU preferences is set to "as audio buffer", then you'll get a total latency of (at least) 512 samples when playing a VST plugin. Some plugins may...

Re: Session Drums - Limitations?
Positional sensing outputs a CC that in Roland's own modules are used to something similar to variable crossfading between different samples, of hits more or less close to the rim. (They probably don't crossfade at all, but change various modeling parameters, but the effect is similar.) The goal is ...

Re: Recreating this sound
You've got Operator? Try the preset Kit-808 - Mid Tom-808 sound, analyze it and tweak it. Shorten the amplitude envelope a bit, tweak the pitches, you'll come close. One key element is the pitch envelope(s), with short, steep decay. If you change the oscillator routing (is it called that in Operator...

Re: A good dubby delay recommendations
Kingdubby looks good but apart from using the 3 presets that come with it it seems unusable. I cannot get the knobs to move!! anyone having the same problem. I'm on 8.1.4. you need to open the map editor (midi) and map the controls to a hardware controller, such as a nanokontrol, bcr, etc... it has...

Fortunately, I was working in education at the time, so qualified for 50% off, making the price $299.99
