premium money for a basic bitch experience. what the hell? fan noise on Macs? I thought they were built to be austere and classy. I guess 'composed on the Mac' means "pardon the background noise."
that's a freaking lot of money to hang your hopes on to get screwed. sucks man.

Re: What is max Bit Depth / Sample Rate of ableton?
64 bit / 384 khz is marketing bullsh*t to fool amateurs and self-professed audiophiles. can that be extended to 98Khz and 192kHz? 96kHz is overkill as it is, but it's common. get our your pitch forks and defend the 44.1kHz/48kHz MONARCHY!!! what do you have against people taking fools' money? :twis...

Re: LIVE 9.2b1 Discuss....
I searched and after all the fuss they don't even address it in the manual. all I found was something about bypassed effects. it's not fixed but they can't bother to address it properly or explain how to manage it. flatten/freeze, no thanks. what about a max4Live device just for PDC evaluation? what...

Re: Some plugins could not be loaded or are disabled?
do they work in other DAWs?
Ableton disabled plug-ins? I didn't know they did that, that's lame.
which plug-ins? this could be a bigger problem than we know.

Re: What is max Bit Depth / Sample Rate of ableton?
Cakewalk has 64 bit / 384 khz. Would be nice if ableton kept up! By the way, Ableton - a fully 64 bit engine, or a hybrid of 32 bit? Is it relevant? https://www.ableton.com/en/manual/audio-fact-sheet/ really what you're getting at is that there's absolutely nothing special about Ableton's audio pro...

Re: Sampling Vinyl Records
it has a phono/line switch on the back. switch it to line and it's exactly like recording from an mp3 player.

Re: What is max Bit Depth / Sample Rate of ableton?
I already figured it out, here we are talking about working and exporting within a project with a sampling rate of 384 khz, it rather depends on the audio driver. it probably involves how all your gear coordinates different sample rates. kind if like you need to pay attention to gain staging throug...

Re: What is max Bit Depth / Sample Rate of ableton?
found a discussion on Gearslutz. https://www.gearslutz.com/board/mastering-forum/968181-384-khz-dxd-plugins.html Non-linear processes create false HF content regardless of sample rate. Working at low sample rates like 44.1K causes that HF content to get mirrored down into the audible band while high...

Argh, stop bickering. :x With respect, it's not bickering, it's Tone Deft being obnoxious and attention seeking and others pointing it out. +1000! Erik, I really don't get the both-siderism… (I see that quite a lot here; latest example my link to "Wrong about the Apple Silicon Mac - Youtube&qu...

good luck! it's quite the investment, over $500! Live isn't known for it's Arrange View, their gimmic is Session View. it took them until the last update to add envelope curves. so 1990s of them. Reaper $60 https://www.reaper.fm/purchase.php Logic Pro $200 too long of a link to post, google it. Cuba...

Re: 384khz sample rate SDS
the only reason to use high sample rates is for lower latency for use with a computer with LOTS of power. Ableton only goes to 192kHz. I use 48kHz, most do, or 44.1kHz. I've googled and there is gear that supports this sample rate. nice option if your computer can handle it. 384kHz is 1/8 the latenc...

Re: iMac 2020 i7 vs i9 processor
i'm assuming that the i9 architecture is in general superior to the i7 architecture. that's a really bad statement to make in this context. that's only because you see one number bigger than the other. if it's that simple then why are people asking?? it makes no sense. benchmarking is complicated b...

Re: iMac 2020 i7 vs i9 processor
i7 with 8cores 3.8Ghz or i9 with 10 core 3.6Ghz once you've got more tracks than cores they are distributed across your cores anyway. from a purely processor cycles point of view, 8 x 3.8 = 30.4 GHz, and 10 x 3.6 = 36 GHz . that means that the i9 has nearly 20% more processor cycles per second than...
