Re: style vs. success ?
3 questions for Live users with international distribution, flight-paid gigs, and/or album contracts. [if you're like me and have had several paid festival gigs, perhaps a compilation track or residency etc, just sit back and listen ;)] - Did you consciously attempt to strike a balance between your...

Reaktor allows several keys at the same time, so there is no technical problem. That said if you are planning on anything beyond testing out sounds, you'd be better off getting a little controller keyboard ... or a huge 88 key weighted one with every key driving some automation on one channel, and n...

Hi - thanks for posting your music. Always interesting! :-) Just home from work with a beer in one hand and a marlboro in the other, so here is my first listen 'review' : Quarisa: Sounds like Liam Howlett skillfully ripping up some Boards of Canada (a compliment). Really well produced. Nice restrain...

Acid does have right-click menus, midi preview and OPT. Plus v5.0's media manager is a good concept, even if the performance is currently a little flakey. I find the Acid arrangement view to be very easy to work in, maybe I am just more used to it. Live does now handle VST very nicely. Where is SX3 ...

this would be very useful. Not impossible, Acid 5.0 offers it :-) Given the way that Live allows you to load individual miditracks from within a multitrack midi file as a folder in the browser, it would be particularly good if we could audition individual midi tracks; plus select what VST we might l...

Sasha's album has some really nice pieces on it. I've enjoyed his stuff a lot over the years. It is very interesting that he is now getting more deeply into composiition. Seemingly he used Live to create the album - though it has such a nice analog feel to it he must have created the actual music on...

I saw him play in Singapore recently and it was very uninspiring. He failed to catch the mood of a large enthusiastic crowd, some of whom had travelled a long distance to see him and had been enjoying the warm-up DJ a lot. There were a lot of disappointed people, shuuffling around, waiting for him t...

sounds like soundflower for the mac is the sort of thing I was hoping for - but for windows. VAC and Total Recorder don't seem to be liked by Live as inputs. But Traktor seems to find them acceptable outputs. Being able to route audio around internally and add vst effects would be pretty cool. looks...

virtual soundcard/mixer
is there such a thing as a virtual soundcard? like midi yoke, but for audio?
it would appear as a soundcard device in audio apps, and allow me to route audio from traktor into live as an audio input ....

I'm very surprised at the size of the cash involved. At least now you know that your foolish spending on music technology is going to a good home. Obviously the profit margins are a mile wide. Suddenly I'm thinking Ableton are not afterall a humble little dev shop struggling to stay alive ... but in...

HI - nice idea, but i'd add that, rather than the current plastic lump at the external end of the card, I'd prefer if it had a flat form and a short cable to the audio sockets.
Then you don't lose the use of your second pc card slot if you have a USB2 pc card (all usb2 cards have a big plastic lump)
