Looper MIDI controller on Kickstarter
Hi I am very proud and excited to introduce you to my first MIDI controller. It’s a Control Surface that connects to Live’s Looper via Max For Live, and allows to control several loopers and display their state. It also features a « Scene Mode » to launch and show Scenes, and also has 2 expression p...

L10: create a Red Box w/ a MaxForLive control surface ?
I'm trying to create a Red Box in session view with a Max For Live Control Surface. Is it possible ?
I want the M4L control surface to have its own box, not use one from another control surface.

simple (?) Python scripting
I'm trying to get into Python scripting. So, here's what I want to do : I want to retrieve the value of a specific device parameter to use it within the script. I'd also like to get the class name of the device. So for instance, if I load an autofilter on track 1, and when I change its 1st parameter...

Re: ** ABLETON AS LIVE KEYBOARD RIG (HELP!!) **
so what is your issue exactly?
do you want to save on CPU or do you want your instruments to sound the same regardless of the settings on your Keylab when you start a new song ?
it's not very clear.
it's an interesting issue though.

Re: ** ABLETON AS LIVE KEYBOARD RIG (HELP!!) **
I can't think of a solution for your problem using only knobs. However, depending on what you want to achieve, there might be a workaround. If you want your instruments to load in a certain state, you can always create some automation for your macros. That's what I woumld do. This way you can tweak ...

Re: Recording (and then sending) midi clock with Ableton
You can record tempo changes if you record in Arrangement view (Session won't you let do this). But why don't you let Live act as the master for your MIDI clock, and record the changes within it? This way, you can always come back to edit it, and you won't need to record any incoming MIDI clock mess...

Re: SNAP ON/OFF is there Alternative to CTRL 4?
If you're on a mac, you can try BetterTouchTool that will let you assign any key to perform any key combination.
That way you can keep the same keyboard shortcuts between applications.
I'm sure there's a Windows app for that too.

Re: Push 2 coming soon?
That and I'm concerned about the no power readability as my favoured option is lying on the couch with the Push and my laptop on the table. NEEDING to use a power supply would spoil that.. You'll need the power supply I'm afraid. You can use Push 2 without it, but it's not a really enjoyable experi...

Re: recording arrangement disables drum racks?
Anyway, this has been acknowledged by Ableton staff, they told me they are working on the issue . Good for you if this doesn't trouble you! :) I still don't understand what this means in practice here. Is it some kind of overdubbing thing? If so, where is the overdub supposed to take place? What's ...

Re: recording arrangement disables drum racks?
Sorry, when i say "frozen" i don't mean it as a frozen track. It's just that the pads don't react at all, i can't select them anymore nor play them (on Push ; in Livés UI everything is fine). Yes, the clip that is looping in session gets recorded in arrangement, but this process blocks the...

Re: recording arrangement disables drum racks?
Just try this: load a drum rack on a track
Launch arrangement recording
Record a session clip on this track
Stop recording the clip so that it loops
Now try to select or play any pad on Push, it should be frozen. Isn´t it?

Re: recording arrangement disables drum racks?
ok, after a long call with support (thank you guys!), i got an explanation: recording in arrangement disables drum racks. to have access to the pads again, you need to enter session recording mode. it kind of makes sense, though i find it very disturbing: not being able to select pads to edit them i...

recording arrangement disables drum racks?
this is driving me crazy.... i want to record my live (session) peformance in arrangement, but doing this wrecks drum racks. just try this : load a drum rack, launch global recording, record a session clip on your drum rack track. as soon as i'm finished doing this, the pads get unresponsive, i can'...
