Re: Buying new toys in Germany
Guten abend. Ich bin in Deutschland! Starting a new life over here, and GAS has set in already. Part of my deal was one month's extra salary to cover the costs of moving everything. Instead, I came with two bags and I'm going to blow it all on new shit. So looking for a reputable source of tech stu...

Re: House music has never been so hardcore
The image just seems silly given the music and I doubt his music is being exchanged in prison yards. That was probably just a tad racist. Oh well. :x Maybe not music but as poster ?... Dont know about prisons beyond documentaries but there might be some inmates finding this transsexual image...

Re: Bitwig 1.0
After trying Bitwig last year (and un usable for me Live 9 release) it became clear for me- use Live 8 till finally "the real Live" = Bitwig studio will be out. What most critics /fanboyz do not realise, Bitwig is not some gang of copycats, cloning Live but contrary they are people who act...

Re: Presonus FireStudio - improvements in latency
Anything else but not Presonus. They have issues (interruption in connection) with their Firewire products, soundcards in particular. They sent me replacements, talked on the phone etc, etc for few weeks. The worst part of the story is that they did not really know what is wrong but worse, became ra...

Re: Breaking Bad
Great episode. Both the opening and closing scenes were 8O I went through all episodes few months back after friend of mine, film director, told me about future of cinema, possibly moving from Hollywood to TV format, giving Breaking Bad as example. It was interesting to see how the production level...

Re: iPad
I just realised how to listen to YouTube without the video, while I browse in safari, or when have the cover closed / screen switched off. Usually as soon as the YouTube app loses focus it goes silent, so it's no good if you want to listen to a rip of an hour long radio interview. I realised that i...

Re: best possible latency with live 9 and duet 2
So emperor could you pls provide me with the correct information upon latency and samples on your apogee duet. In a hungarian forum all the guys tell me apogee sounds much better but RME has more features. I would like to know the values of latency and samples of the RME (babyface or something) and...

Re: best possible latency with live 9 and duet 2
ohh emperor. i am now confused even better:) so apogee duet vs RME (babyface) maybe. again, what to choose? There is no real comparison, RME is another level, superior in all the aspects- more neutral sound (Apogee sounds "nicer" in some way, since it is consumer not even prosumer oriente...

Re: best possible latency with live 9 and duet 2
The problem is that on top of audio latency, there is midi latency (that most of people are not aware there is such a thing) the PCI, PCMCIAs are/were the fastest, Firewire not that much better than USB but those vary a lot depending on models, manufacturers. There are some test in archives of Sound...

Re: iPad
Waiting 5yrs between updates is no big deal on a notebook... in the meantime you'll have spend 5000 bucks on several IOS-devices which will not be supported after 2 years If you sell your current iOS device RIGHT when the new versions come out, you can often make a good bit of money on the deal. I ...

Re: best possible latency with live 9 and duet 2
Tested Duet2, Echo 2 USB, Babyface with 2.2 i7 MBP late 2011, few months back. Was shocked how bad was Duet2. Echo 2 could easilly work @ 64 samples, Duet slightly worse than your results. RME was clear winner could go down to 14 samples, very stable at 32 - bought the RME.

There could be worse buyer, like this one:
"Concert Grand Piano That Will Define the Look and Sound of Your Room or Décor"
http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/EG8280USB.aspx
On their Spanish site was even better , no mention of "sound" just the "decor"

RT should also be understood in it's wider context http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMWVUoYNezU That link lead to some fascinating stuff, the best I found on this forum in past (mostly useless and boring) 3 years. Re: selfmade live visuals - which programs are out there?
Having taught Flash, After Effects, Processing and Quartz Composer at various points in my life I stand by my statement, even though I no longer personally use Flash myself. Teaching is different than performing live visuals as VJ. I had audio visual company for few years, myself also VJing and doi...
