If I am loading a blank Ableton project maybe 5 seconds at the most (application is on my SSD so it it super fast).

If I am loading an existing project that utilizes Kontakt libraries (external 7200RPM drive), M4L devices, etc. it can take maybe 15-20 seconds if the project is big.

before you worry about your bit rate. open up kontakt in standalone, as it needs to clarify its library destination in standalone mode. NI says to open ALL their VSTs standalone before you try them in your DAW for this reason. People get lots of crashes if they skip this step. I will definitely try...

Yeah, I think 32bit Live is going to be the issue. I might try 64 and see if that helps fix things.
