sound quality lolz

http://panic.com/extras/audionstory/ A long story on how iTunes basically ate its competition back in the early days. Very entertaining. But I loved this part - - Jeff Robbin then asked us a funny question that had obviously been percolating for a while: "Does Audion do any kind of special fil...

Re: Could the reason that Ableton sounds bad to some be because

Reasons vary, and I am confident, that in most cases the reason is just general noobness. However there are some things that cause unnecessary bad first impressions such as: 1. I never get it why the heck in the default mode of the simpler release has to be set to 50 ms. This causes 1000 times aske...

Re: From Logic to Ableton

About all I do anymore in Logic is mix - I have a nice mix template set up and really like some of the plugs. Live is just too much fun to work in and for me it has nothing to do with Session. Its all about the racks for me. They're so powerful and the instant midi mapping takes it to another level....

Re: From Logic to Ableton

Only thing I really miss in Logic is some of the stereo widening plugs...I really like Stereo Spread and the trusty old Sample Delay is so quick and useful. I use the free Voxengo Sample Delay to accomplish this in Live and I've tried various racks and approaches to replicate Stereo Spread but haven...

Re: Best Sounding DAW

funny...the current issue of CM cites Trentmoller's warm sound and details how he does everything inside of Live (admittedly with a lot of UAD plugs but shouldn't Live's horrible engine even ruin those?)....

Re: Your favourite Ableton Skin.

I've become quite happy with DarkGray. Makes the bright colors and white transport line pop out really well. Kind of has that Logic 7 look IMO which is a lot nicer than the washed out default gray or Logic 8 look.
