Re: converting audio files to binary, ascii or hex?
Interesting. So how would I go about actually seeing the binary or numerical equivalent of that data? I know nothing about computer science - I'm just looking for a way to "translate" numerical data from random audio files into charts.

Re: New label investing
World Wide digital disribution network. Wish you luck my friend. You're walking into a lion's den. Why's that? hahaha. I knew I would get this response. So, I'm assuming you think it's a bad idea for anyone to start a "label" even if it's purely used as a creative outlet not meant for a s...

Re: New label investing
that's a good idea. Although I have worked in marketing in the past for a dot com company, I guess the music biz is a niche i should explore.

New label investing
I just happened to inherit some money and I'm at liberty to "dabble" in some things I have otherwise missed in the past. I've been considering starting a small boutique label for some time now. I don't expect to make any real $$ from a label as I know it's a pretty dead business. I'm not q...

Decent plugins that don't require ILok?
I have a budget to spend on some good plugns, but it seems like all the ones I want require iLok - URS, Sony Oxford, Waves
Anything recommended out there that doesn't require iLok - looking mainly for compression/eq
I already have wave arts and psp.

Live synched to Machinedrum? Is it possible?
Live just keeps bouncing around +/- 1 bpm when slaved to the MD - every thing is out of time. I have the MkI model. Has anyone else been able to get this to work?

Anyone performing with built-in on Macbook? Adv vrs. Disadv?
I have a lot of hardware to set up for my live shows. Now I'm thinking it might just be easier to run out of the built in. Barring latency issues, are there serious performance or sonic drawbacks to this in a live situation?

Studio Insurance in the USA
Anyone have their gear insured? Any recommendations for doing so?
I estimate I have about $10k worth of gear and it would be a massive bummer if it disappeared one day. Are their any companies that specialize in this or should I just call up state farm or something?
