Re: does ableton owe us something for a crap ver.8?
here is a customer that comes from a legit cubase crap and is verry happy with live. live has been very stable for me for long time now, actually since version 5. and as we mention version 8; since i upgraded from 8.0.3 no problems at all. you should take a look your hardware to see possible mistake...

Re: Why did you choose a Mac/OSX?
i started after 7 years on a mac with a pc, and yes it wastes more time, but there are many things i can do with a pc better than on a mac, and there is more freedom on operative system decision on a pc. both are good, but it`s a personal decision.

my studio fits in a handbaggage. don`t seem to miss anything. even without half of that i could do, just live, notebook and a soundcard would do just fine.

Re: Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 or......?
why bother yourself with the companies that have messy drivers like tc electronic, m-audio, focusrite.... for some mid range there is edirol, echo, higher there is rme. roland releases only tested drivers. they do not have 20 versions of driver. there is one and this one works. that says it all. ech...

Re: So, who's using a solid-state drive ?
i run my indigo express34 on 128 buffer and never crackles, but i can use also 64 buffer.seems too low for complete project, but some vst can go lower than 128 samples.the card is okay and costs cheap, and i also think on taking multiface2 aroud christmas, but on ssd my conclusion is generally it is bet...

Re: So, who's using a solid-state drive ?
i have on a toshiba notebook 2,2c2d and all texas instruments controllers a transcend 192gb mlc.works about 30% faster than 7200sata,but the seek time is better.probably some newer ssd discs go little faster.they do not go so fast like the specs say.audio works the same,no latency improvement on ssd...
