Re: re:newBQues: Recommendations to record vocals
What do you mean by clean up? Its always best to get a clean recording to start with, I've never found any external processing is required.

Re: First full ableton song (electronica/dance 123bpm)
NOt bad at all, liking the breakdowns and the arp sections are very nice. If you wanted some critical feedback I have three observations. First, the kick drum needs tuning to the key of the track it is slightly out and stands out in the wrong way because of that. Second the attack/release of the sid...

Re: re:newBQues: Recommendations to record vocals
Unfortunately there is no comping in Live so each time you loop you lose the previous take. I would recommend duplicating the tracks numerous times and arming each one for each take, then slicing and manually comping the best bits as required. Or rewire into another daw such as Studio One which has ...

Re: Good VST for strings?
Yes, session strings are very much orientated towards contemporary string sounds. They run in Kontakt Player which is a free download now at NI.
Definitely not that geared towards orchestral sounds for sure.

Re: Guitar Swell in Live
Good work Pasha! Inspired me to do a little track: Pasha's Chain Wow! You rock! What modifications you did with the patches? Don't tell me it's all guitar (including the sequencing arpeggio...) Well... having a track in my name embarrasses me.. I have uploaded the original Ableton Preset whi...

Re: Guitar Swell in Live
well...not sure. I suppose he does ask for an ableton solution to creating a volume swell but that doesn't rule out workrounds I guess.
I just meant that perhaps we're evolving the thread into a cool area, will be interesting to see what the racks can do.

Re: Guitar Swell in Live
I don't think it's a question of technique anymore, those kind of manual volume swells aren't really difficult to do if thats what you're after.
It is now a question of interest in building an Ableton rack for the fun of seeing what can be done.

Under midi prefs, for your apc, you need to turn off 'Track' and leave it as 'Remote' only.

Re: Guitar Swell in Live
Excellent, except I can't find Guitar Pad as a preset....There are many but not that one. Hi UKRuss, You mean the Amp Preset? It's under Audio Effects Rack/Guitar Amp/Guitar-Guitar Pad It's part of the AMP Live Pack. I remember that 8.2.1 brought changes to the AMP Library. I'm still on 8.2.0 if yo...
