Re: Who has dared to follow their Ableton passion?

I work with governments in very conservative places, on projects involving their schools and young people, and I owe it to the people who are paying me to be the kind of person everyone feels comfortable with. There is often no electronic music scene in these places and sometimes, if such a scene s...

Re: Who has dared to follow their Ableton passion?

You could probably be my father if you worked hard on it, but let's forget the whole mid-life crisis thing and all the stuff that goes with the process of aging ;) I am constantly trying to get to the point, where I can say to myself, that I am sure I can make my living out of music related activiti...

Re: Producing equipment.

Or get hi-end ultrasone studio headphones. Better choice than monitors in a non-treated room.

Re: Guide to determing CPU needs

C2D would handle these leaving plenty of CPU power, so don't worry and get the one you can afford.

And even after listening to the "youtube masterclasses" of all those famous producers, I still think there's a big advantage of "glueing" sounds using sends...

Re: How will CC automation of external synths work in Live 9

I don't know how to explain something that doesn't go beyond these words...

You create a midi rack (or any rack tbh). Then you press ctrl + m to map CCs. Then you map the CCs. And then you have something to automate - the macros. When configured properly, midi should be sent to your external synth

Re: analog style step sequencing with push...possible?

My 3 cents about what I see. A little bit offtop, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. The more I read about Push, the closer I am to buying max4live and a launchpad again ( sold one some time ago). There are advantages, of course, but I don't think I am interested in several things, as I'm: 1. an am...

Re: Ableton Midi Keyboards (Akai Max 49 or Novation Launchkey)

I've read somewhere that Launchkey is closer to Impulse than to the SL in terms of keyboard quality. It's the same keyboard manufacturer (not fatar), so you can actually check it out - sort of, at least - right now.

Re: Blogs and websites

Not to offend you, but based on your post, I can tell you're not a native English speaker (nor am I). Tell us what is your native language, maybe someone will point you to tutorial-website written in it. It's always easier and more pleasant that way ;) Haha think you might be wrong.... and offended...

Re: Blogs and websites

1. Read the Live's manual. Seriously ;) 2. idmforums.com is a good place to search for experimental music tutorials 3. if you want to make experimental music, try not to follow the tutorials, but learn the hard way - during experimenting ;) Not to offend you, but based on your post, my first impress...

Re: Live 8.34 is sluggish... Does it need to be?

most of performance problems with computers, especially the windows ones, begin with a slow HDD. Or HDD at all. Readyboost... Does anyone actually believe in this?

try consolidating some clips, resampling or RAM clip mode.
