You mention the APC40 maybe isn't too great for making the tracks, but rather for DJing etc.. I've been eyeing up the maschine mikro too.. would this be something th...

Re: a very useful MIDI tip
ok I painstakingly found out what it was.. Each seperate knob had to be assigned seperately to the global channel or else it didnt work.. So the knobs are working now and so are the transport controls... but.. the knobs dont really correspond to logical controls in the instruments..*sigh* probably j...

Re: a very useful MIDI tip
# Config File for User-defined Instant Mappings # We assume that the controls on your MIDI controller # send CCs (except for pads). All controls that do not have # an explicit channel setting are expected to use the # global channel. CCs & Notes are counted from 0-127 # and channels from 0-15. [...

Re: a very useful MIDI tip
Yes I can get only the 8 knobs working using the script with the oxygen 25.. neither the slider nor the stop/start/record buttons work however. Do you know has anyone got the oxygen 25 fully working (all controls) with ableton?

Re: a very useful MIDI tip
It seems to have stopped working completely? The script hasnt changed all I did was create a new rack and assign the knobs to scroll through sampler, now even the macro knobs dont work? Its very frustrating trying to get a consistent interface with the oxygen 25 is there an eviqualent keyboard that ...

Re: a very useful MIDI tip

Re: Baffled by plugins
Thanks for all the feedback guys, I've been playing around with the sampler in ableton and its pretty cool how you can have samplers within drum machines so you can browse and match your samples mega quick. Also how it auto chops stuff for you and maps straight to the keyboard.. makes it pretty easy...

Re: Baffled by plugins
Thanks man I'll check out that demo..I suppose its a nice problem to have but at the same time its a little annoying to think you might be missing out on *the* plugin..
All the mags and reviews rave about different ones.. I guess its just seeing what comes up and what suits your style etc.

Baffled by plugins
Hi Guys,
I'm getting a little confused by the variety and range of plugins available.. they seem to do everything and there seems to be such a wide range i dont really know where to begin.
I'm trying to make music like the BOC sound.. Anyone know the best plugins to help me achieve?
Cheers,
Jon

Re: a very useful MIDI tip
How do I find out the global channel of my controller?
I've tried midi mapping my knobs and noting down the CC numbers to put into the script txt file but the CC value seems to change?

Re: a very useful MIDI tip
I'm trying to get this to work with my oxygen8 25 keyboard.. but for some reason only certain knobs seem to work and not the play/stop buttons or the slider? Is there some way i can get a look at config.txt file for the oxygen?

Re: Remebering MIDI mappings
Ok so I edited my userconfiguration.txt file but it only seems like half the knobs are actually doing anything.. do I have to go and see what CC value each knob gives then map it into the .txt file? Also how can I choose or view what knobs correspond to what in for example the operator synth?
