Why does no hardware manufacturer build a new interesting synthesizer anymore? The (improved) Live APi is exposed to MAX. MAX can interface with OSC. Your imagination is the limit.

if you own Operator you will automatically have the new Operator if you open Live 8.
Old sets will sound the same, but you have all the additional possibilities of the new version.

btw.: I really had no idea that the Vocoder info has been leaked. So, when that dude asked the question during my talk I was really really confused.

But, yes, there is a Vocoder now, and it can do a lot of really nice things, way beyond the classical chords with vocals stuff....
