Why does no hardware manufacturer build a new interesting synthesizer anymore? It seems the days of hardware are counted, but hey, there are reasons why an affordable hardware synthesizer that is really inspiring could still sell. And who had more resources than Roland,... Probably in terms of synth...

What the OP means... is does the max oscillitors have a good initial sound? Like what does it sounds like compared to an initial osc from a Virus or Nord Lead etc. There are basic oscillators that provide mathematical functions like sine, ramp etc. They do not sound good or bad, they just sound how...

Its just a tool. So, it depends on what you want to achieve musically . People used rotating tape playback heads in the fifties of the last millennium to do pitch shifting, cut tape slices for sampling and pitched recordings of sounds in real rooms for reverb. Live 8 + x might make things easier, bu...

if you own Operator you will automatically have the new Operator if you open Live 8.
Old sets will sound the same, but you have all the additional possibilities of the new version.

btw.: I really had no idea that the Vocoder info has been leaked. So, when that dude asked the question during my talk I was really really confused.

But, yes, there is a Vocoder now, and it can do a lot of really nice things, way beyond the classical chords with vocals stuff....

...and the Pitch Envelope now also offers the same full list of possible destinations as the LFO. this means it is actually an AUX envelope...

think: short looping envelope for an oscillator, modulate global time via Aux Envelope and welcome to the bouncing ball sound :-)

Hi intelljel, you seem to overlook one very exciting point here: The MAX integration will allow users to access Live with far more elegane and ease than how it ever was possible via the old (inofficial) API. If you want to build your own hardware: go ahead. the doors are wide wide open now. plus ful...

I am a bit too over the top to provide a real answer. The short version: this is the best compromise we could come up with, considering the very individual use cases, the desired final price, the fact that it shall fit into hand laguage etc... I plan to use an APC in the studio because it is small e...
