take a look at max mathews or miller puckette books of MaxMSP and work with histo+anal paradigm (markov chains inclusively).. apply it quantization in term of beat detecting.. and then work with the ratios you need for filtering the data the way you need.. I now that it might not be very clear.. but...

it's really important for me to have this working properly because I am expandig the time I could use for maxforlive programming into adapting all the midi messages from fcb1010, and I get out of time for developing devices and stuff like that

fcb 1010 works natively with pgmout and ctlout messages.. but pgmout messages are recognised by live as pitchbend paramters.. so, I think it would be reasonable to get this astonishing and cheap controller working natively and out-of-the-box with ableton live

I think that ableton live could work much better both live and in studio if you could have the arragement window separate from the session view in separated monitors, so I would like to make this small wish to ableton
