it doesn't matter i just watched a video in which Greg Wells talked about working with Adele. he played a chord progression repeatedly and she came up with the melody while he played it could have been the other way around and easier but not necessarily better the process that leads to a finished so...

Also, if anyone has experience with JamStix and ableton, would really love to hear about it! i messed with jamstix for couple of years. never could get it to sound realistic. fact is no one can. i've heard countless tracks made with jamstix...none were convincing. what really sux is i can't resell ...
