Re: Any drummers using Live and the APC40 in live performance?

I am about to snag an e kit and do exactly what your thinking. I was wondering how well the roland stuff works in live. Also a question I have is can you assign any midi to the pads (I assume you can but it is always best to ask before buying). It would get great to be able to assign Battery 3 to a...

I'll be updating soon....still on 8.1.1 at the moment, though.....i7/w7 myself, and live launches in less than 4 seconds.....how much faster do you really want?

No problem. :) And don't worry, I've seen far worse. It looks more like you just need a cup of coffee or something. Hakuna matata!

Re: Some starting questions from a newbie

+1 for Ark's post It's odd that a one year old PC would have 1GB of RAM....only netbooks have that these days....what are some of the other specs? You really should have 2-3GB minimum, especially with Vista/7 64-bit, but it's certainly possible to run with less. I like the way Ark put it, but I'll s...

Re: Impossible Bug Reports

Ableton should really look into the process of fuzz testing if it doesn't already do that.

Telemetry is a very slick way of figuring out what led to a crash, too. I wish Live would atleast include an option to give advanced information to Ableton whenever an internet connection is established.

Re: No sound on exported song!

My experience reflects H20nly's exactly....I haven't had this issue in quite a while and it never happened that often, but when it did, simply deleting it and trying again worked perfectly. You could also try saving it under a different name. Also, you want to make sure you don't try to open the fil...

Re: Problem with 8.1.3

The default set is simply an empty audio track and an empty MIDI track. All you have to do to get things back to normal is delete everything you get after launching Live, make it so that the only two tracks are those blank audio and MIDI tracks....then go to Preferences, click the File Folder tab, a...

Re: more help with my electronic rock band pls

A few things I'd suggest: -An APC40 -Practice  -An interface with zero latency monitoring (for the band) -Foot controllers, can be mapped to different functions like effects and extra clips....awesome for live performances -More "Live" Instuments and a nice, small MIDI keyboard....yo...

Well a belated Welcome!

Congrats on the purchase. Live is quite a program. It takes a while to learn everything you can do with it. Any issues so far or things you'd like to know more about that maybe you're having a hard time with?

Re: Anyone know where I can download the manual for the APC 40??

Sort of true. There's some decent information on it in Live's manual, though it's not extensive. There's also a good Live Lesson you can get to by going to the Help View and then scrolling all the way down to Reference, and at the very bottom, clicking on Control Surface Reference Lesson. Then you s...

Re: Auto-save?

What IP was saying is that, since Ableton currently loses it's history after saving, if there WERE to be an autosave feature, it would be rather evil....what if you needed to undo something, but Live just happened to Autosave 2 seconds ago? OOooh that would piss me off. In other words, they'd both n...

I know exactly what you mean about tuning guitars, some people are sure that they can tune by ear but just fail at it. For those moments there's nothing better than this....

Re: Anyone know where I can download the manual for the APC 40??

Sadly, this has been an issue for a while. :?

I know it probably doesn't help much, since you've likely seen it already, but this is all that's on Akai's site:

I wish I could help more. :(
