Re: Proper Comping feature

+1... again... and again... and again... and again. Live is a decade behind with this. And yeah, it's actually quicker for me (and just more awesome and less frustrating) to record and edit takes in studio one, bounce them in place, and drag directly back in to Live from Studio One than any of the A...

-Better tools for comping, vocals, and take management.
I do all of this is in Studio One, and it's light years ahead of Live for that. I'd love to see an innovative solution for this kind of work in Live.

-PDC for automation

Re: The Great BitWig Migration

Definitely going to give it a serious look. I make my living with Live, so it definitely wouldn't be an overnight migration for myself. As a professional, it'd be kind of silly for me to NOT take a look at what could be the evolution of the paradigm I work in. It would be equally as silly to jump ov...

Re: Increasing overall track volume after volume automation?

Or just shift / multi-select all of the faders you want to move, and move them all at the same time by the same amount. Something you CAN'T do if you have automation on the channel faders.

Re: Increasing overall track volume after volume automation?

As convenient as it is to simply automate the channel faders in live, I avoid doing it for this same reason. I like keep my faders for overall 'trim' on the volume so that I can look at multiple channels at a glance and make adjustments in the mixer. It easy to do this afterward with a utility, but ...

Automation 'lock' / step edit mode.

It would be great if we could add/edit automation points simply by setting parameter values on devices and plugins, with or without having to use a controller. I guess the closest analogy I can think of for this is 'Parameter locks' in the Elektron devices. Or a step/point edit mode for automation, ...

Re: fix saturator HQ mode

Sounds like they just never got around to it, and haven't unified the labeling for oversampling. Would be good to get this fixed if its a bug.

Re: Bitwig 1.0

Of course, cheaper is always nicer. Personally, I think the price is completely reasonable. It's middle of the road for a cross platform, feature rich DAW. It wasn't long ago that this stuff $800-1500, despite wether the fact that you were a hobbyist or not. If you know what you're doing, you could...

Not wrong at all. Do what you have to do.
Personally, I probably automate EQ more than I automate everything else.

Re: Group track doesn't work like a true bus...

Still not clear on what you're after. Any examples? Like the ability to route other tracks outside of the group to the group channel or something? Just make the Group channel a normal audio channel? I for one would like improved/easier routing on normal audio tracks to facilitate what people are lo...

Re: DRUM RACK VS INDIVIDUAL AUDIO SAMPLES

I prefer to work with audio where ever I can, and keep the in the arrangement view for context's sake. I like being able to visually see where my parts (especially drums and bass) line up or fall against each other, and quickly resample layers together. I also like having precise envelope control wi...

Re: Group track doesn't work like a true bus...

Maybe be able to send one of the (grouped) track to one of the "normal" send/return tracks. Huh? Grouped tracks have sends and can send just fine to return tracks. What's the issue here? Do you mean drum rack chains? I just want all the features of bus tracks Like what ? Proper routing. I...

Re: Re-join audioclips

Consolidate does indeed make a new file, and it's a destructive edit.
The only way to do it non-destructively is you re-drag edges of the clip to it's original length.

Re: Bitwig 1.0

Most likely there will be a demo, if I like it, I'm getting it. If I end up enjoying it more than Live, then I will continue. It definitely has some features that look exciting to me. I've been using Live since version 3, I'd be a fool not to be interested in something that appears to be the progre...
