Topic: Ext FW HD should I partition it
Replies: 3

I generally partition my hard drives for two different reasons: - To separate OS and user data, so if you have to reformat your computer, you won't lose any of your applications or data. - To split a drive up so that it can be read by multiple OS's. For instance, in a Windows environment, I'll make ...

well, the thing is there will be no "new" powerbook anytime soon...... maybe better prices and maybe little (1.6 1.7 g4??) more mhz but that won`t change the fact that pc`s outperform macs. that`s a little sad because powerbooks seem to be the most well-buildt and good looking laptops aro...

You should only really be using FAT32 if you're worried about legacy applications, or communication with other OS's in a dual-booting situation. NTFS offers several advantages over FAT32, such as journaling, large file/disk support, and plenty of other crap that has already been mentioned in this th...

Wow, lots of good bookmarks to add to my list... thx. =)

Also, I've noticed that a lot of sites like this tend to offer their plugins in both VST and AU formats (when available for mac, that is). Does one offer a clear advantage over the other, or does it really matter?

I don't know if I buy this or not. First of all, using activity monitor is grossly unreliable itself, as the stupid gui and polling period bump up the CPU quite a bit on it's own. If you want a more reliable means of measuring this, pop open a console window and run "top". However, I have ...

Re: Hercules DJ Console

Has anybody used the Hercules DJ Console with Ableton? Is it any good and would anybody reccommend it? http://www.4beatz.com/proddetail.asp?prod=djconsole Holy smokes!! That thing looks like a fisher price toy. Me stick with X-Session. I can only imagine what it sounds like when you try to "sc...

sound studio 2. cheap and does the job. I second this notion. I like ss2 more than peak, even though it's filters are somewhat limited... I might give amadeus another shot, though. I didn't know it supported vst's. The only windows software that I really miss is cooledit2. That's what a sample edit...
