How come when i try to use ableton for effects while djing i get a delay on the speakers,what am i doing wrong

Im thinking of buying a midi keyboard r controller but i was just wondering would it make any differents to the music i make. i dont even know how to play one{a keyboard that is} and u can do every thing on the computer anyway,i would just like 2 here peoples views on this subject cos i have a bit o...

O and yes im using ableton and it is a vst plugin

The plugin that i got comes with 128 presets loaded into already,but ther is another 500 presets that come with the plugin but are not loaded in yet.What im basically trying to do is load in the other 500.

Im just after buying a cool new plugin from lennar digital but cant seem to get the extra sound banks loaded,im already after e-mailing lennar digital support and they said you have to load them through your daw.Does anyone know anything bout this ?
