Answering the serious djing question...although it seems a million miles away, my definite goal is to make this a profession. I was seriously considering getting SSL in combination with the CDJs, for exactly what rolfski said, learning using my hands while being "prepared for a digital future....

Btw, there are better alternatives for the djm 600 in that price range. Consider the mixers from Ecler, the are better in sound quality than the djm 600, which has relatively weak EQ's.
