I'm thinking of upgrading to Lion from Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

To those who've done it, do you have to reinstall/reregister Ableton and VSTs or will they be intact after the upgrade?

Also, have you sorted out the problem of sending the audio from the portastudio to ableton via your nio interface?
