Re: Komlete 8 VSTs-What VSTs for what sounds?
Yea i mean i do understand what all that is..(sine, attack, decay, pitch, etc) i was more concerned with if there was a consensus as to what VSTs is komplete are geared towards a certain sound, but i suppose I can make great sounds in all of them. I think i will just go one at a time, each day i do...

Re: Is Ableton Live the right tool for me?
are you making backing tracks only to practice over?
if that's the case I can't see a justification for a $500+ software. Do you have a mac? Garageband is free and has a bunch of loops with it.
Again, this is if you only want to use it for practicing.

Re: Controlling video in arrangement / audio in session view
Thanks for your response Yeah, the video and audio are on different tracks. So for example, I have all my video clips on Audio 1 track in the arrangement timeline. I midi map locate points throughout the video clips to be triggered by the MPC. I then create Audio 2 in session view and drop some new...

Re: Controlling video in arrangement / audio in session view
i don't understand why ableton's audio stops once the playback starts moving.. :P are the audio tracks that you want to play and the video track separate? If you have the mpc's midi out mapped to lanuch certain locater points then that shouldn't affect the any of the launched clips in session view. ...

Re: Mainstage with Ableton - First Thoughts
I have used MS and Live pretty extensively on stage. Soundflower will work for getting audio into Live, but I am wearing of linking the two programs using a freeware utility. Instead, I patch 2 outputs directly into inputs on my audio interface. I set up tons of keyboard patches in MS, set up a tra...

Re: Suspicious that audio degrades when exporting
this honestly sounds all very bizarre.. i've never had a problem about audio sounding different from before summing and after summing in live. Perhaps, are there any other settings on? some weird form of dithering (not sure if this makes a difference), normalize, etc.?

it's probably because you haven't set the master track's output to the headphone out on the firestudio.

Re: How to record build ups/presets changes
Im not talking about saving settings of the presets, but to record a changing preset... like recording a preset getting more and more distorted. Id like to know how to do this either on session or arrangement... is there any documents/vids about this? this is called automation. there are many ways ...

Re: Your Master Track
Make sure that the limiter is not actually doing anything.. so put a limiter on but make sure it's not doing anything? of course it's doing something, otherwise whats the point? a limiter only does something once it's threshold is reached. until the gain reaches the threshold the limiter in fact do...

Re: Louder Headphone Mix?
That all makes sense except the last bit about selecting the headphone output on the return track's "out". Is this the "Audio To" menu of the return track? The choices in here are Ext. Out, Master, Track 1, Track 2, and Sends Only. I can select my audio interface as the return t...

as for RTFM....i never read the manual, not the manual reading type, nor do i look at maps...part of asking rebo questions is not only to find things out, but to find out how other users do things. 99% of the time there are shortcuts, or techniques, or shortcuts to techniques that one will never fi...
