I can't say I've used a Roland SPD but I can say the Korg feels very nice. The pads are very smooth to use but the only downside is only two control knobs. The XY pad makes up for this though. It's very light but can definitely take a bashing and feels very sturdy.. So no automaps from anyone? :wink:

Just bringing up an old post..

After installing the padKontrol USB drivers, you need to actually install them by going to the KORG directory in Start > Programs and installing the MIDI driver. Once that's done you should be able to select padKontrol in Live, rather than USB Device..
