Normally the update on its own should perform fine! No need to install SX2.

For security it may be better to install it though and first finish projects with SX2 and try out SX3 (at least until SX3.01 is released mid/end November)

I noticed a slight processor usage increase from 4.01 to 4.03. And the CPU meter was also far more jurky than in 4.01. (as of the warnings about 4.04 I did not to the update to 4.04)

maybe it has to do with the config. I am running a G3 iBook with 10.3.5
