Re: Using a midi controller to play vsti live and using the Laun

Problem, or might I say oversight with the LP (launchpad) is that if you have it as loaded as a control surface in the Live prefs you a really locked in with how it behaves and are unable to do anything with it other than how its hardwired. ie it can only send data on midi channel 1 and the differen...

Re: "Solid" BPM setter

What's your problem with the midi fader? Not enough control? Are you limiting the 'range' of BPM the fader works in. After you've midi mapped it, make sure you adjust it's min and max values to suit the style of music u intend to play.

Re: Newbie: DJing with Ableton 8.0.9 Lite and my new LaunchPad

I DJ'd locally quite a lot for a few years and found it great fun, but also found myself less interested in the attention i was getting from people by playing other peoples music. So i too am now just producing at home, refining my skills and trying to arrive at a sound that is somewhat 'me'. I thin...

mrideas' journey into vcm600 & launchpad control

Hey all, it's time to try and give a bit back the community and record the trials and tribulations of trying to get the best setup out of my two controller (VCM600 & Launchpad combo). edit- (I'm in mac) First up is the mission to enable a 'mouseless' setup using various actions. I'm intending to...

Re: VCM 600 help

I map the FX buttons (x8) to a 'blue hand', which allows the buttons to 'grab onto' a rack in particular channel x8 ( or any other specific device) on one or several racks in one channel, then the 8 knobs auto map to the 8 macro knobs in each corresponding rack or the predefined mappings embedded in...

Re: Vestax VCM 600

OK, should have not been up late in the evening setting up/

Problem was me forgetting about the fader curve knob for the channel faders pn the front. It was would all the way to left, Which makes the faders jump to full volume, once you reach the top of the fade.

Silly me.

Re: How will the APC40 affect DJing with Live?

My 2c is that it not not going to change dj'ing as such at all, it's just another 'live' improvisation tool. I dont think I've ever heard a truly 'live' dj set that rocked my socks off for hours on end... Ok No that's doesn't mean I have never heard anyone play a wicked set 'using' ableton, but it c...

[amo] Poor GUI display when Interface Scaling below 100%

Can the team looking after the GUI for Live 8, perhaps look towards scaling the GUI at % values based on the current OS screen resolution. Any value below 100% looks as though it's being 'interpolated' over the display rather than being re-drawn and font heights being changed. This makes the GUI loo...

Hi I'm very new here so forgive any ignorance... I'm looking to buy a Zero8 later this year, and use it for both dj'ing (Live&cdj's/vinyl), and production. I'm reading through the issues (which i hope are sorted out b4 I buy), and can see this cue'ing problem as a fairly important one to get aro...

Building PC, I need Help. 64Bit, multi cpu.

I'm building a monster PC and need a some advice on what Live6 can handle. Using an IBM server, using 64Bit, and multiple CPU's, and multicore's in those CPU's. Can Live6 run with this setup? Does Live6 support 64 Bit? How many CPU's / cores, will it support. Max memory required/possible? Cheers for...

Hmmm, not really. I mean, you place a midi clip into a slot and then you duplicate it (cntrl+D) to fill the other slot. But when you open the first clip and add a note, that change isn't reflected in the other duped clip slots. Where'as in Cubase, you have the optin of making copies that track any c...
